This is a surprisingly effective little personal blender. Because it runs off a chargeable internal battery you can use it on the go, or at home but without having to hassle with plugging it in. The overall capacity isn't exactly huge. But that's why it's called a "personal" size blender; big enough to make a smoothie for one (or one at a time). After charging it up the first time my wife made a smoothie with bananas, strawberries, a bit of water and some crushed ice. And the little machine did a creditable job. At first it wanted to lock up with the chunks of fruit at the bottom, but once it got those a bit churned up it ran great. It does have a built-in timer to protect from overheating itself, so as explained in the instructions it will only run for 25 seconds at at time. It has a lot more charge than that -- so could run longer. But having that run-time limitation makes some sense I suppose as a way to increase its longevity. Now, let's talk about ice. The listing says it can crush ice cubes and frozen fruits. I have to disagree with that as a blanket statement. My experience is it does not do a good job of blending ice CUBES. I tried that with the smaller cubes my fridge puts out, and they just spun in a clump up above the blades; even if shaking it while blending. That being said, it does do a pretty good job of working with crushed ice. And given that experience I wouldn't expect it would handle frozen chunks of fruit much better. It's simply going to work better with thawed vs. frozen materials. Cleanup is pretty straightforward. You can't put the whole thing in the dishwasher or dunk it under water (it is electrical after all). Instead, just fill the container with water and give it a spin to clean to clean off any remnants on the blades. Then perhaps a quick final rinse and you're good to go. So overall, don't over-expect. But, if you're in the market for a pretty decent portable smoothie maker, this is a pretty good option. ... show more
