Plane works great and is much quicker and easier than pulling out the router for smaller projects. Blade changes are quick and easy, and it's handy having the various profiles. Nice value for the cost.

    • Poor design
The paint on the tool actually came off on the wood while I was chamfering edges. The wheel for locking the chamfering depth is loose and needs to be tightened often. The changing of blades is very tedious as there are many screws to get this handheld unit to open. And there was no instructions, which is a very bad idea when using any tools. You do not know what are the working parameters of the tool was designed to. Why did I keep it? It gets the job done on mockups or edges for down and dirty projects. ... show more

    • Leaves groove marks on wood, red paint comes off on everything.
I recently bought this because I didn't want to spend $150 on the WoodPecker brand one. This is a good buy when that price isn't a reality for your tool arsenal. However, the red powder coat finish, or whatever it is, rubs off on every single board I plane. Also, it leaves groove marks along the path way when I have to apply even the least amount of pressure. Ideally, I would have my board already sanded and finished, and the chamfer would be the last step, so that and finish sanding wouldn't affect the consistency of the edge, but with this product, it does not allow you the ability to do so. ... show more

    • Waste of a chamfer plane
I really like the concept and it could be a really easy way to add detail touches to a workpiece but this item is just poorly designed. The cutter adjustment is inconsistent and difficult to dial in and the paint discolors the workpiece as it's used. Again, it's a good idea but the fit and finish to make this a workable tool isn't there. ... show more

    • gouges & tears wood, leaves red streaks of paint in wood
Certainly not the best tool for the job. So far, the only wood I have found it works OK on is pine. Any other wood it tears chunks out, or rips the wood, even in the same grain direction. I have tried sharpening the blades, that did not help. Setting the depth gauge to the smallest amount, still did not work. Other issue is as you are using the tool. it leaves gouges in the wood on either side from the tool itself with the tool paint color in the wood.. ... show more
