I've had a chance to use it a few times now, and I'm happy with it so far. Haven't tried using the pre-set stops yet, so I can't speak to the accuracy of that. Besides that... - Very easy to assemble the loose pieces out of the box. - Seems to be a durable machine, mostly metal construction, not a lot of plastic. - In-feed and out-feed tables needed a little adjusting but not much, biggest gripe with that was one of the set screws for the out-feed table was so tight I stripped the head trying to loosen it. Did have a little snipe even after adjusting the tables, but I was able to sand it out pretty easy with my orbital sander. - Not the quietest machine by any means, but not the loudest I've had. - The dual feed works great. - The cutting inserts left a very smooth finish on the oak I planed with zero tear-out. I really liked the fact that it came with HSS inserts, but I could also get carbide inserts for this machine if I wanted them (which I did), all the other planers I was interested in had either one or the other. - Be prepared to do some cleaning if you don't have dust collection, but that's with any planer.

This was my first Rikon machine. It was packaged well, delivered on time, and came out of the box with no damage. Set up was a total breeze and took less than 30 minutes from out of the box to planing boards. The thickness gauge and infeed & outfeed beds were spot on and required no adjustments. The boards come out the planer with 150 grit finish!! The dust collection is just awesome!!! This definitely will not be my last Rikon machine. I've already ordered the 6" bench top joiner to compliment the planer in my small hobby shop.

So much less noisy than my old bench top. Impressed by the smoothness of the boards I ran through it. If you’re looking to upgrade from a straight knife lunchbox planer and don’t have the space or money for a stand alone planer this is a good choice

This planer is working very well. It produces a clean surface with minimal snipe (its hard to tell it exists unless you are looking for it). It was pretty easy to setup with the exception of leveling the infeed and outfeed extensions. Those were a bit fiddly to get right. Also the extensions are not perfectly level with the surface inside the planer and as far as I can tell its not possible. I will be contacting Rikon support to see if its defective. It so far hasn't seemed to impair operation of the planer.

This machine weight 68 lbs. The infeed and outfeed tables were perfectly adjusted right out of the box. The fit and finish of this machine is excellent. The stops at 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 inches et. al. are a nice feature. The 2 sided cutters are HSS, but carbide tipped cutters are an option. The dust hood comes with a 4” to 2 1/2” adapter. Packaging protection for the unit was superb. This machine is HIGHLY recommended.

The In feed and out feed tables can’t be adjusted to be level with the bed. Attempting to unscrew the screws on the bed to raise the in-feed nearest to the bed and the screw immediately stripped. I’m getting pretty severe snipe and since the in-feed and out feeds don’t line up to the bed I don’t expect this to get better. I could not be more disappointed. 2022.10.09 EDIT: I’ve now had and used this planer for quite a few months and my two star rating stands. I would highly recommend avoiding this device. The indeed and out feed table can’t be adjusted because the screws stripped, the speed of the roller doesn’t adjust so it’s always on slow and often wood won’t advance through leaving me pushing the wood through. AVOID AVOID AVOID
