    • Appears quality, but hear my concerns.
Runs a bit large and flares out at the bottom. I'm 6'2 and currently 204lbs. Not complaining about the fit, just informing future buyers. Heating elements feel powerful at its low setting even, I'm quite pleased with its heat locations and the intensity at its 3 different settings. The vest is lightweight, rather quiet compared to other heated vests I've owned. Nothing stands out about the vest build quality that says "that ain't gonna last long". The included battery was 100% dead upon opening the package. If you are familiar with battery packs, there are 2 'don't ever' rules. Do not run the battery down to 0% and do not keep it at 100% too long. Fortunately the battery is accepting a charge but I am a bit curious about the lifespan of the battery moving forward not knowing how long it was fully discharged for, or if its defective and has a drain internally. I'll find out this weekend when I wear it during my hunting trip, not the end of the world since I ordered an extra battery bank and already have others, however its nice to have confidence in your battery & can never have too many. Zipper quality is good, rather quiet, smooth and have enough resistance that they won't move on their own with movement, but the color itself is a bit bright and a little tacky. The singular real complaint I have is likely not about the vest itself but more about how, or why, it smells so strongly of mold/must/urine directly out of the package? At first when removing it from the box it was delivered in, I first attributed the odor to the cardboard package - you know how cardboard has a very unique stink to it especially when its cold or wet. However when I fully removed it from its packaging, the odor got stronger. After trying it on and turning on the heating elements for 5 minutes, the odor of urine was extremely intense and gnarly. I immediately tossed it in my washer with a scent free detergent and have it hanging to dry. The funky urine smell seems to be gone, but like the battery, the test will come when I wear it on my hunting trip and heat gets turned on. Really weird, haven't experienced foul smelling clothing items ordered from Amazon until now. Overall I'm excited to give this vest a try in cold air hunting conditions & still have expectations I'll be satisfied with it's performance. ... show more
