There are a lot of laptop bags on the Amazon market, but I was looking for the sturdiest one to protect my 13-inch Macbook Pro when going to school. I did not feel safe about carrying my expensive computer in my bookbag with all of my other books and weight on top of it, so I decided to get its own dedicated bag. I was very pleased when I received this bag; compared to the one my brother uses, this one has a lot more storage space for not just your laptop and its charger, but also other pricey technology you may be carrying around with you, such as your graphing calculator, drawing tablet, etc. Additionally, while my brother's laptop bag is this flimsy thing, the Thule Subterra has nicely reinforced sides depth-wise, and where it is not as reinforced, there is plenty of padding. I can't comment much on the water resistance, but I would feel safer carrying this in the rain with the layers of padding and the extra fabric on the inside, which is constructed kind of like the inside of a suitcase. Plus, there isn't just one main compartment pocket, but two! You could theoretically fit two laptops in this bag, or your laptop and some books underneath it. Not only does it have two main compartments, but it also has plenty of extra pockets. However, unless you travel lightly, I wouldn't use this as a replacement for a bookbag if you go to school. It's roomy, but it doesn't have enough room to fit the three spiral notebooks I use for classes. This bag is not cheap, but I would say that it is worth the price you pay for it. Definitely cheaper than replacing your laptop should it break in transit.

The bag is made of great feeling material inside and out with the outside being more durable. The front pocket has plenty of space for little items. There are two other openings where I keep my laptop in one with the charger and the other has my tablet and space for paper/folders. It's also nice to have the suitcase strap for easy access/security. Happier than expected with this purchase as it took me weeks to decide on a work briefcase. Heavy duty! The only downside I can speak of is the bag wants to fall off my shoulder if I'm not leaning, but that's always been a problem regardless of the bag.

Very very nice bag. Out of perhaps 10 similar bags I've tried over the years, this is my favorite. It has a loop on the rear that slips over luggage handles - very handy. Roomy but not too large. Easily holds my 12 inch iPad Pro plus my 15" laptop too. Quality is high. Zippers are smooth and consistent. I've taken this bag on perhaps 20+ trips/flights so far, no sign of wear or tear, so it's holding up well. The shoulder strap is padded and adjustable and removable - all good design features. My only design suggestion: On the rear of the bag, below the luggage loop, perhaps in the up/down and left/right middle of the rear panel, put a business-card sized zippered pocket with a clear front plastic window, so I could insert my business card for an easy way to add my name tag/add my ID to my bag that is externally visible. Could also make this same pocket slightly larger so I could add/store perhaps 10 or so additional of my business cards for quick (external) access to my business cards to give out to people as I meet them. A++ bag.

This is a great bag for a quick trip or running around town with your computer. A few dislikes. There is a place to put a power pack however it is very difficult to get in and out of the pocket as it is a small opening. The second dislike and probably the most annoying is the strap. The hooks to connect to the bag are plastic and when walking this creates a loud and annoying squeak. Would not be bad when running around time but I use this for work and walking down hallways and in and out of meetings it is an annoyance. As much as I like the design and ease of the bag the squeak has not allowed me to give it a perfect review.

I really like this. It is light weight - this is important because my laptop is a heavy-ish desktop replacement. It seems sturdy and well designed and has lots of well-organized storage space - very easy to get at stuff you use frequently right away like the pocket for the cell phone on the top. If I were to suggest one thing to Thule, it would be to put some rubber on the bottom to take the wear when you put it on the floor.
