Used this for the first time on a family road trip to Ocracoke, NC. It worked great and functioned like an extra external trunk for the trip. Here are some things I learned using this in my Tesla Model Y: - The max vertical weight you can use on my hitch was 160lbs. The box + platform comes to around 60, so that left about 100lbs of capacity left for cargo. My tip is to avoid putting dense things like a case of water in this. I put clothes, a stroller, and some miscellaneous stuff for my kids and dogs and hit the space constraint before hitting the weight limit. - I can open and close the trunk as normal with this on. There is also enough space between the box and trunk for you to stand between them and load things to or from the trunk. - Assembly was not very hard. Took me about 30 minutes to do unassisted. The only other thing that I needed besides the box and platform was a 7 pin to 4 pin adapter for the electric. - I didn’t do any testing, but I didn’t experience any drop in range when using it. Overall, I think this thing is built solidly and I’m quite happy with my purchase. I am excited to use this on a road trip to the Smokey’s later this summer and for many more road trips to come. ... show more
