Is that normal? Yes. It’s normal in all flashlights of this kind when your in high or turbo mode. The bigger the lumens the higher the heat. To protect the battery, driver circuit and LED, we Do NOT recommend you run the light at max mode more than ten minutes. What should do once the flashlight get super hot? You must monitor the heat of the light with your bare hands during operation. If the light becomes too hot to hold at the hottest area then you must turn down 1 or more level or OFF for the light to cool down.     • Great, bright, compact 18650 light, but
I've had this light for about 3 months now and this is a nicely finished, compact, very bright light that you can charge at home, in your car, or from a portable power bank thanks to the built-in USB charging port. It accepts any protected or unprotected 18650 cell, button top or flat top. I strongly suggest using the battery that it comes with or any high quality Samsung, Panasonic, Sanyo, Sony, or LG 18650 battery, and buy it from a reputable dealer. The UI is very simple and extremely easy to learn. You have three choices of brightness at turn on. Press and hold for about 1-1.5 seconds and you get a true firefly/moonlight mode. Or one quick press and you get your last used mode from memory (low, medium, or high). Or double press and go straight to turbo mode. Once the light is on, all you have to do to cycle thru the levels of low, medium, and high, is just press and hold the button. The light is small and very bright, so it will get hot! This happens to all small, high power flashlights. There's no way around that. Well there is, but you have to go with a less powerful light or get a much larger light that can dissipate the heat that's generated. Now here's the but. My only complaint with this light is that it has no electronic lock out. So if you carry it in your pocket or put it in a carry bag, you have to, or at least should, slightly unscrew the tail cap to be safe from accidental turn on. A few things I forgot to mention. For this being considered a cool white led, it's got no hint of blueish tint to it at all. It could just be my sample, but I'd call it a bright natural white at around 5700k. In a side by side comparison, there's hardly any discernable difference between this led and the high CRI Nichia 219C 5700k led's in my Convoy S12. Even the color rendition is excellent. Also, just an added bonus, my Convoy S12 (21700 battery), my Astrolux EC01 (21700 battery) and MF01 Mini (26650 battery), my Sofirn SP31 and SP32, and my Wowtac A1S all fit in the holster that is supplied with this light. And it's also supplied with one of the largest lanyards I've ever received with a light. I don't use them, but you can easily get your hand through this one, even if you have large hands. ... show more

    • Awesome flashlight but gets warm quickly
I absolutely love this flashlight. It's the perfect size for a tactical flashlight l, compact and light enough to carry all day. I haven't put it's battery to the test but it hasn't died on me yet. It feels very durable, but again I haven't run it over with a car or anything to see just how durable. It's easy to switch brightness and you don't have to cycle through every one just to turn it off like some other flashlights. Hold the button to change brightness, one click to turn it off and on at the same brightness. Double click for maximum brightness, triple click for strobe. Press and hold while off for firefly mode. The only this I dislike it one the highest brightness it heats up in seconds and after a minute it becomes very warm. Not hot, it doesn't burn my hand, just very warm. Like those electric hand warmers. Honestly it's nice in the winter. I highly recommend this flashlight, it's absolutely worth the price. ... show more

I do HVAC and use my lights in pitch black, dark and dirty places. I used to buy some more expensive lights from other brands a few years back, but since I found Thrunite I’ve been sticking with them, and have had little to no issues with all of them. I’ve dropped em, had em bang around in the work truck, gotten wet in my pocket, used them in -65F Minnesota blizzards, etc. The TC15 is slightly smaller than their TN12 which was my all around favorite EDC light for years. I sold probably 50 of my friends and co workers on that light. This one is just an upgrade on that in every way; waterproof to 6 feet, better on/off activation and switching between modes, and BEST OF ALL.. rechargeable. I love being able to charge this off of my battery pack that I keep in a fatboy pocket organizer. No more carrying around a bulky AC charger. This light looks absolutely beautiful in person.. pics don’t do the burnt bronze finish justice. My only gripe is that the advertised 2300 lumens only lasts for 2 minutes before the light steps down in power to 1050 lumens to protect the internals from overheating. While I understand the need for this feature, and I understand many flashlight companies do this.. I probably wouldn’t have jumped on this light right now, had I realized that. Then again, 1050 lumens is more than sufficient but I already have 2 tn12’s that max out at 1050 lumens. So while it wasn’t a completely necessary upgrade for me right now, I still really love this light and would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have an EDC light that goes over 1000 lumens. I’ll be using this extensively on an upcoming fishing trip and I’ll make sure to report back with any updates. ... show more

    • My Favorite EDC Flashlight Hands Down. Even Survived my Chainsaw!
I am a huge fan of the TC15 lights and have given one to every member of my family. Recently my chainsaw handle caught the lanyard my tc15 and pulled it out of the holster and swung it into the running chainsaw blade. It cut a nice gash in the bezel / lens area but it still works perfectly!! I was worried about moisture getting into the lens area so I ordered a new TC15 V3 CW and it's a wonderful upgrade. I plan to keep it but would also like to order the same in Neutral White. I have found that the TC15 V3 NW (Neutral White) is not available. I would like to know when it is available again so I can buy more of them. I have owned more expensive lights but the TC15 NW is my hands down favorite. I'm a boat captain and also live in the country where it's very dark at night. I use my lights several times a day and can attest that this is one tough light! I have used my light daily for almost 5 years on the original battery, and not even my chainsaw can stop it! Thanks for a great product! ... show more

TC15 is similar to the popular TN12 and tailstands easier to use as a candle mode since there is no tailcap switch. Has a nice lanyard that comes with it, although you will need a pic tool to push it through the small lanyard hole. The multifunction switch is good and I like that this light is rechargeable with the usb cord without the need of my 4 bay Thrunite charger. Pocket clip is secure as well. This is more everyday carry friendly than the TN11S V2 that I have been using for a couple of years. At night on Turbo at 2300 lumens for 2 minutes is very bright and is like a wall of light compared to the TN11S V2 which is 990 lumens but a more focused hotspot that is more of a thrower beam. Very similar battery life like the TN12 but a higher output of lumens on turbo for the first 2 minutes and same amount of light on high at 1050 lumens. I also like the bronze color instead of the standard black anodized finish. Great light for a great price and well worth it. Great for walks, and camping. This is not really a tactical light because of the lack of a tailswitch, but a better everyday carry light that still has firefly mode and turbo and strobe mode available as well. ... show more

    • Battery dies, difficult to recharge, finally will not recharge
This is a sturdy, bright, elegant flashlight. I was pleased with it when it first came. However, it can not hold a charge as well as my regular $15 AA-battery flashlight, which still turns on without needing any battery care after 3 years. The Trunite was always out of charge when I went to use it. It did recharge the first 2 times, but loses the charge before the next use. Three days ago I went to turn it on again and it was out of charge - no light came on. Once again I plugged it into the charger, went through the Google posts to find out the steps to get the charging light to stop flashing purple, finally got a red light, and left it charging for 3 days. Today the red light was still red, and unplugging it from the charger and turning it on did nothing - no light. There's something really wrong with the battery and charging system. I liked this light a lot at first when it worked, but it finally just plain does not work after only 3 years and minimal use. One star. ... show more

    • Overall decent flashlight
All in all I have been fairly happy with this flashlight. I bought it for simple projects around the house when I need a little better light than your standard flashlight. It works well enough for that. I would not recommend this for professionals to use for work applications, however. The button on mine was very finicky, sometimes it didn't respond to being pressed. Additionally the turbo mode almost never works as intended. It will go super bright for about half a second and then down to medium mode, but if I keep trying to enable it repeatedly then eventually it will stay on turbo mode. So, there's quirks about this that make it unreliable for work use. I use another brand at work because it's much more reliable. But for simple tasks that aren't as critical this does work well enough. ... show more
