I really like this flashlight. I use it 4-5 days per week, for unarmed security work. I like that the cap button gives you instant access to the brightest beam, without having to click through half a dozen options. If you need brightness in a hurry, just click! The other options being available with the side button, three fast clicks for strobe, a couple of low power settings for map reading, and regular "high" mode. The finish is coming off a bit after 3 months of wear, but I don't care about that. I had to loctite the toothy bezel in place as it kept unscrewing itself, and I had to chase it across a parking lot once. I use the light regularly though out my 10+ hour night shifts but I don't really know Exactly how long the light is actually on. I rarely use it for more than a few minutes at a time, but I use it a lot. Regardless, the battery has never died on me before I could recharge it. The body gets hot Very quickly at full power. Nice in cold weather, but it limits the usefulness of turbo mode since if it overheats it will throttle the power down to regular high mode. All in all, for the price it's durable, I love not having to purchase batteries weekly, and it's very bright. If I lose mine, I'll order another just like it immediately. Highly recommended!

This is hands down the best pocket sized light that I have ever bought. It is insanely bright and luckily it has other modes to adjust the brightness. I mainly use this light in construction and either keep it in my pocket of my pant or one of the pockets of my safety vest. The battery lasts surprisingly long, but does take a little longer to recharge than some other flashlights. I have enjoyed and used this light so much that I now have three of them, and all three work flawlessly still. My only two gripes about this light is that it gets super hot when the brightest setting is on for a while, and that there is no ability to zoom or focus the beam, I really like this feature on other lights and if this one had that feature as well it would be unbeatable. Definitely worth buying one, maybe even two or there

The max lumens and throw on this is everything any self defender or LEO could want, and it's half the price of the most popular brands. Thrunight and BSS really hit it out of the park with this. DON'T spend a couple hundred on some other handheld light. This is the one you want. Side note, mine turned itself one twice while I was messing with the clip on the first day. The buttons wouldn't turn it off, but it's an easy fix. Just unscrew the tail cap and screw it back on. No problems since.

I've had this light for a few months now with daily use. As far as usefulness goes it has been awesome. A piece of advice is when you carry it in your pocket, using the clip, be sure that the clip is on in a way that the flashlight wont turn on in your pocket by way of the button on the side of it. Not only will it use up battery but it will warm your pocket and leg quite alot. Now, everything has been kosher up to now. I noticed the day before yesterday that after a full charge I would active turbo mode and the light would step down its output after a few seconds. I thought it odd but didn't really think too much into it. Yesterday I went to use it and then everything went bad. Upon turning the light on, whether in turbo or not, it would come on, suddenly dim the light to an almost blue color and shut off. All within a few seconds time. Now today, after a charge the light is not functional. This is pretty disappointing. Now this may very well be a battery problem. So I will be buying a new battery and seeing what happens. Will update.

This is a quality flashlight. Built like a tank. Crazy bright, for it's size. It has some weight to it, but I don't mind if it lasts. Some of the other lightweight ones I have purchased don't last. Great festers, like that it's rechargeable you could hook up solar to recharge if camping, hunting or escaping zombies. Top quality like the Black Scout Survival Chanel. He recommends good stuff

AAA+! I LOVE THESE COMPANIES (THRUNITE &WOWTAC). Ive been a flashlight fanitic for years. Even before CREE was born ;). I bought the BSS V4 recently and fell in love. It's quite honestly in my beloved top 3 favorite lights and as I stated i am a fanatic and I've tried at least..(47 lights so far). The BSS V4 is no BS! Perfect little "dynamite" package. Light, bright and THRUNITE! Unfortunately, this light is so amazing..that mine was stolen after 3 days while I was helping a stranded motorist with a battery jump and well, I guess they were impressed too! Much love! Keep up the awesome job guys! It was my favorite EDC and EMC (every minute carry)! I WILL be back for another as soon as I'm able.

The ThruNite BSS V4 is marketed as a “tactical” light, thus it’s quite aggressive (removable) strike bezel and the setup of the rear pushbutton to activate only the “turbo” setting to provide the top “blinding” light. My main intended use is for photographic light painting. The cylindrical design allows for a homemade sliding “snoot” to control the shape of the light, and the screw on red filter allows me to replace the red disk with a photographic color temperature acetate gel. So far it seems to work well. The low and medium settings are ideal for my purposes. Even the Firefly extremely low output allows for examination of camera and remote shutter release settings in the dark. One should be aware that both the High and Turbo settings only provide full output for about two minutes. It charges in about 4 hours with the included usb cable and port on the light. It looks good and the ribbed design provides a solid grip. Update: I would like to add a positive experience with ThruNite customer service. Responding to my request they supplied two additional screw on filter holders. After substituting CT gels for the red filters, I can now quickly and easily change colors just by screwing on another filter. This works well for my photographic purposes. Great responsive support from ThruNite!
