On a sunny afternoon, in the verdant expanse of our backyard, a delightful scene unfolded. Our five-year-old granddaughter, stood there, her eyes wide as saucers, clutching the Threeking 1:18 Dinosaur RC Car. Now, let me tell you, this wasn’t just any ordinary remote-controlled car. No, people, this was a prehistoric marvel—a dino on wheels! The dinosaur head, painted a vibrant green, boasted two horns that glowed like enchanted fireflies. It had more features than a Swiss Army knife: a spray function (because even dinos need a little mist), toggling cool lights, and the pièce de resistance—dinosaur sounds that could wake a fossilized T. rex from its slumber. Her mom, ever the creative genius, had set up a makeshift racetrack. Flat boards propped up on one side with pavers simulated ramps. The stage was set for the grandest RC racing spectacle the Mesozoic era had ever witnessed. And so, with a dramatic countdown—courtesy of Grandpa’s gravelly voice—the dino car revved its tiny wheels. The car comes packaged in a cardboard box that is well decorated. I think this is important because the target audience is kids (and adult "kids" such as myself), so packaging counts. I love the graphics on the box and the excitement and anticipation it will generate. In the box is the RC Dino, a remote, 2 Li batteries, a USB charger for the batteries, a small screwdriver to open the battery compartments, and a dropper to put water in the car for the "smoke" effect. The battery compartments are secured with a latch and a captured screw, and at first I thought the screw was just a pain, but after running the car around and doing jumps I realized the screw holding it shut is a really good idea. The remote takes 2 AA batteries (not included). The car uses the 14500 lithium batteries that come in the box, and the batteries are managed - they each have a charge controller - which is important for safety. The charging cord is just that - a USB cord with a circuit in there that connects to the batteries and controls the charge rate. Be aware this isn't a normal USB cable. It's USB A on one side to plug into the USB port, but on the other is an electrical connector. So you'll need to use ONLY this cable for charging. Charging each battery takes a few hours. Once the batteries are in, it's time to have some fun. The controls are easy to use: one control does forward and back, and the other left and right. In addition there is a button to turn/on off the rear LEDs and to generate the "smoke". The car is fast and easy to steer. I also found it easy to do some of the stunts like wheelies and 360 spins both on two and four wheels. The smoke effect is fun and pretty cool. Part of what makes it easy is the car steers like a tank - instead of turning the front wheels, the turning is done by actuating wheels on the left and right sides. The Dino is also 4WD so you can take it outside and have some off road fun. One word of warning, though. The car is NOT waterproof. In fact, there are some openings on the bottom that WILL let water in if you go puddle-jumping. So outside is fun, but water is not a good idea. As a grown boy, lol, I found this car a lot of fun and easy to control. I think it would be good for kids, adults, anyone who wants an R/C car they can have fun with right away.

My nephew absolutely loved this car! For a child’s toy, it actually worked pretty well and it’s very durable which was important because he’s quite rough with his belongings! He used it for hours and didn’t get bored of it! It’s quite fast for a toy and the size is just perfect for a 5 year old! It’s not too loud either which his parents appreciated!

Got this for a rambunctious 5 year old who loves it. It works pretty well and I really like how it comes with 2 batteries. The only thing is that the electronics are not fully enclosed so be aware that any water could seriously mess this thing up. Overall it works well and the mist effect is cool but be careful not to spill or run near water.

This little truck did not disappoint. The kids played with it for hours. The truck is easy to set up and operate. The functions such as the spin and the smoke are especially fun. It comes with an extra battery, so one can be charging while the other is in use. The 'smoke' is really water vapor with a red LED, but the effect is cool. Overall this little truck really impresses and will provide hours of fun.
