  • Great directions
Clear directions. Pictures are good quality and give close detail. Several techniques demonstrated. Projects shown as well. This is what I was looking for.

  • Incredibly easy to understand, every detail explained!
I am new to embroidery and wanted a book that would explain the ins and outs of many techniques. That's exactly what I found here, this book takes you step by step and explains the reasons behind the more obscure procedures in a way that is easy to understand. The projects start off at an easy level and complexity is added as you become more comfortable with the stitches. Overall I couldn't have found a better book to take me through the procedures of many forms of embroidery so quickly and gently. The pictures are incredibly detailed, get yourself this book! You won't regret it! ... show more

  • Best book ever
I was actually stitching a new project when the post delivered this book. I decided to take a quick break to thumb through the book. Four hours later I realized I was still reading. This book is so backed full of unbelievable expert advise I can’t say enough good things. At times I found myself laughing saying “I do that” (which is wrong). Not keen on the projects as they are very small and simple, however, this will certainly become my go to book from now on. Don’t hesitate to buy this book if you want to learn. ... show more

  • Inspiring and informative
I have the multi-volume book of embroidery techniques published by the Royal School of Needlework. It provides lots of inspiration and overview info on technique. This is the perfect book to expand in the area of embroidery painting with its provision of projects that enable the learner to practice step by step what is taught, eventually developing skills to create works of beauty. The photography of each step provides a clear illustration to accompany written instruction. I purchased the e-version of the book and am not disappointed -- it is just as easily useful to me as a hard copy would be. ... show more

My daughter loves the book. She says it's better than she thought it would be. Thank you
