No issues with these new Thorogood logger work boots. I took a HUGH chance, given the price of these boots, by veering away from my life-long favorite Chippewa Super Logger (style #25405) work boots I have worn for years and years. I thought I would give these Thorogood loggers a try. They do seem to run true-to-size so no issues there. They are comfortable so that isn't a problem either. However they do require some 'break-in' time to become more comfortable. At first, they were hurting my upper ankles, around the outsides of my ankles. I solved this by lacing them loosely until I got to the last/upper lacing and then tied them as tight as I normally would. That lessened the 'pressure' on my outer ankles as I wore these throughout each work day. After a month or so, they are to the point now where I can just throw them on and go. So, in short, I don't regret giving these Thorogood Logger boots a try. But they won't stop me from purchasing my life-long favorite Chippewa Super Logger (style #25405) boots again either. No regrets. But I still prefer Chippewa Super Logger #25405 over ANY logger boot I've ever bought. ... show more

These are heavy insulated leather steel toe work boots. They are not light like my Lowa hiking boots. They take a few wearings to break in and not feel like crap. But once they do, they feel good, and do what they are supposed to do. Good traction in the snow and woods. And the protection I need for my feet when running a chainsaw in the woods and moving logs and stuff around. Yes, they're expensive... US made and union made. Even an imported version of the same boot is mid $200s. But a new foot would cost a lot more if I slip while chainsawing... ... show more

I was weary about spending too much for a pair of work boots...read and watched a ton of reviews for a few brands. There are a lot of brands out there and I narrowed my choices to two, then picked the more expensive pair. Yes these boots are expensive but when I opened the box I was not disappointed. The boots are quality and it shows with the workmanship and heavy duty nature of the boots. Thick and sturdy soles and outsoles gusseted tongue, superior leather. I wear a 10.5, ordered a 10.5 and they fit perfect. Most importantly they are comfortable. The upper (collar) has padding and the insole makes the boot just snug enough. I needed a boot with good arch support and this boot has that. The boot is heavy duty and if you are looking for a light boot this one is not for you. I would say they each weigh close to 4 lbs. The only thing I found disappointing was the laces. For a boot of this quality the laces are cheap, flimsy and not long enough. We purchased these boots in May 2025 because I work on the railroad tracks. We were told these are the very best. We'll I have to say that as far from the truth as on can get. By August 1015 I was ready to throw them away because they started seperating at the seams around the soles. A family member suggested I take them to a shoe cobbler to see if they could repair them. It took awhile to find a cobbler and it took the cobbler 2-weeks to glue them back together. We'll were in winter now in Massachusetts and with snow storm Fran the stared coming apart again while clearing the train tracks. Leaving me with frozen feet from soaked boots. It's hard to believe these are even made in the USA the quality is just horrible. Does anyone know of a good pair of logger boots for a hard working man? ... show more

I had never touched boots of such quality, it's simply impressive and I wanted to keep them so intensely that returning them gave me tachycardia ! Unfortunately they've only one flaw that makes them a deal breaker for me and that's the absurd heel, why !? Why put an almost feminine heel on so perfect boots ? They're ridiculously comfortable, robust and a very long etc, but those heels on men's boots are very difficult to ignore, I've never so regretted having to return a product like these boots, they're wonderful but a man looks really funny walking around with those high heels, such a pity ... show more

Great work boots, very solid and well made... you might be spending a few extra bucks but the longevity and their ability to be rebuilt will save you extra cash in the long run. Break-in time is about 10-15 hrs of wearing. I would also recommend getting the 3x width if you have a wide foot simply because the leather is high grade and doesn't not flex as easily as one would experience with other boots. Plus I would recommend the 400 gram thinsulate for comfort in most weather conditions up to 100 deg. ... show more
