The fit is spot on and they're comfortable for a work boot. The materials used are top quality. If I had to pick out something that I think is lacking, it would be the laces. They're too short and too thin. The sole isseems like it might wear out quickly and the tread isn't that grippy on surfaces like grass or soil. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and would buy them again.

My second pair of Thorogood boots. My first was the American Heritage which were great! It took 2 years of spring summers and falls working construction to were them out. Now to the 1957's 10.5 wide out of the box they are beautiful and feel more robust with a thicker leather. On the foot I feel like they are breaking in already in the first day. Like the title says I am shocked how well these fit on day one. I work in an industry were water and concrete chemicals will test these boots every day. With the nice soft waterproof membrane and thicker leather I have very high hopes for these boots. Right out of the box I gave them a mink oil rub down, that might have something to do with how much form they're taking so fast. I can't say enough about the build quality. 6 Stars.

These boots are the best money can buy. skipped buying a new pair last year on a Black Friday sale but made sure to buy this year. This is the 4th pair of Thorogood boots, my 3rd pair of 1957 series. The boot in the pic is 3 yrs old never oiled or polished worked the original sole off of them had them locally re-soled still going. I have tried other models but I returned to the 1957 waterproof, insulated they’re warm in the winter, cool in the summer (Florida) and a great riding boot on my motorcycle. High quality Union made boot well worth the money. Not sure why the other folks had issues I am quite sure Thorogood would stand by their product if in fact there was a flaw in the Manufacturing. To many pros to complain about my tag has a stain on it etc…. Highly recommend to purchase. Fits comfortably great looking and durable American made boot.

Let me start out by saying I'm a Union Sheet Metal Worker and I'm proud to own a pair of these. They're union made in the US with some global parts. I've always heard a lot of good things about Thorogoods, and decided to give them a shot, so I ordered these. They delivered fast, a day earlier than expected. They're like walking on a cloud from the first time you lace them up. They fit true to your size, I ordered a 10 and they fit like my shoes(where as with Double H brand, they'd be more like a 10.5). They break in fast and they're very comfortable, and alleviated some of my foot pain and fatigue from the old boots. They're waterproofing is great, especially how the tongue has webbing to the upper so water doesn't leak in there. They take damage well, scratches and scrapes don't peel off the leather or break stitching. That being said, when I hit a deer on the way home from work, and the bike went to a slide with my foot pinned between the bike and the road, I'm glad I had them on. I slid about 30 - 40 ft with my Yamaha 1300 pinning my foot to pavement and it did very little real damage to them. The sole and moc toe was scraped flat in places and there's one hole at the edge of the comp toe, but they stayed on and I don't have a scratch on my ankle or foot. I plan on keeping these put up for a memory, but I'm planning on ordering another pair soon. Thorogoods for life.

Boots are absolutely beautiful. Opened the box and they were absolutely pristine. The laces are light weight but feel durable. The stitching on the soles are superb. But, when I pulled the tongue back I noticed immediately that there was some sort of oil or something that were stained on the tags. They won't be seen by anybody, but when I open a brand new pair of $300+ boots, I would expect them to be completely clean inside and out. Put them on to try them out and they are extremely comfortable. Having practically silent steps despite how heavy these boots are. I'm working on my feet for 9+ hours a day as a mechanic and I can tell Thorogood will be a brand I will be revisiting. Willing to overlook the stained tags this time but next time I will definitely send them back for a new pair. 4/5 rating.

I bought these for my 17 year old son. He's training to be a diesel mechanic and sometimes goes out to wash and fuel the trucks. He stays on his feet all day, on a concrete floor, or paved lot. He gets everything from grease, mud, water, to fuel on his clothes and boots. He said the boots are keeping his feet completely dry and there was no 'break-in' period! He took them out of the box, put them on, and went to work. 10/10!

I wore these today at work( ibew electrician) today at LAX. They fit well but the leather is really stiff. Hopefully they don't take too long to break in. These are my first boots I paid over $90 for. I will try to remember to come back in a month for an update. Update Sept 2024...THESE BOOTS ARE TRASH! Insoles are garbage, the tounge and shaft of boot DIGS into my ankles, and the grip on the soles wore off withing 6 months. I'm a Comercial Union electrician so I'm on my feet all day... I paid over $300 for these boots and they were trash from the beginning. I thought I needed to break them in it's been almost 2 years and they still hurt my feet especially my toes

I bought literally the same size but the tongue read different . My old pair said 9.5 2E this tongue says 9 1/2 EE which in theory would be the same size but this was way to narrow and fit way to tight Update . After attempting to wear I notice a lump on the left shoe and when I lifted the padding I noticed it felt like a crack. NEVER BY FROM AMAZON THESE SHOES . Stay STAY CLEAR. I never got a message from them asking about my boots when I complained .
