I’ve purchased Thorogood 3 straight times each pair I would get 4 to 5 yrs out of them and could have worn them longer. I have owned my 8-inch Thorogood boots for 15 years now and have had them resoled twice. They are a high quality pair of boots that have stood the test of time and only become better with age, and now fit like a glove. I recently purchased a pair of waterproof six-inch boots from Thorogood and expect them to be the last pair of winter boots I'll ever own. They may seem a bit pricey, but if you can afford it, In my opinion, it is worth it to invest in a pair of boots that will last a lifetime and only get better with age. To maintain the quality of these boots, I recommend regularly cleaning with saddle soap and applying shoe polish. Overall, I highly recommend Thorogood boots. ... show more

I am a contractor, and I use these boots for all my work, indoor and outdoor. They are sturdy, but lightweight and do not make your feet feel tired by the end of the day. They cost a little more, but are well worth the price and are a good value because they last a long time, get more comfortable with wearing, and outlast any other boots I have worn. You would need to purchase two or three pairs of other boots that would wear out much more quickly. Very high-quality. The souls are a dirt magnet. So be prepared for your $300 work boots to look 6 month's old after the first day you wear them. They defnately need a break in period. But the quality is spot on, just the sides of the souls look bad. Too bad this 1957 Series didn't have an option of black souls. I must say tho, that I'd received several compliments on the boots. I’ve been on an ultimate boot quest since I got in the trades. As a plumber, I love these are waterproof. I stand in muddy trenches a lot and these keep my feet dry. They’re beautiful boots, I sized down a half size they were tight for a week now they’re perfect. Comfortable all day long. I wear them about 60 hrs. A week. They seem quality, but "wide" is not wide at all. I dont even wanna know what the not wide looks like. I matched the size to my redwings that fit perfectly, and it wasn't even close, width wise. Issue is, they fit length wise. So I can't size up. If you have wide feet, these won't work. Some might say "they'll break in", but not if your foot goes past the outsole of the boot, which mine did. First of all I would like to start by saying that I personally think Thorogood boots are some of the best boots I have ever worn, Compared to the timberlands and redwings of the world these boots are just better. I have owned a pair of thorogood boots for the last 3-4 years and worked in them everyday anywhere from 8-16+ hour shifts and they never let me down until the waterproofing finally gave out, I definitely got my money's worth out of those things. If your buying these for work I can with 100% confidence tell you that they are the best your gonna get and would definitely recommend to a friend. Now down to the problem I am having with this particular pair that was sent to me by amazon I don't know what happened with this pair of boots when they were being made but they aren't made right. The right boot looks normal and like it was made by a professional but the left boot looks like a cheap knock off with no quality control... I am returning this and ordering a new pair hopefully they don't look completely different when I get them. temporary low rating because of this issue. edit: They sent out a new pair of boots and they look good, From looking at other reviews it seems like I'm not the only person that this happened to... might as well get these boots at a physical location. ... show more
