  • average at best
Of all the Thor appliances i purchased, this is probably the best of them. I purchased a full kitchen during a remodel. That was a decision i regret. They are very low quality and getting them services is hard and expensive. The dishwasher lasted about 2 year and the repaid was more than purchasing a new, higher quality one. If someone were to ask me if they should but Thor, i would say no. ... show more

  • Zero Customer Service
One would assume when you purchase a $2,000+ refrigerator, the company would stand behind the product should a problem arise. Wrong! Don't count on Thor to do much of anything except ignore your service requests! My refrigerator is 2 months from the end of the warranty and I recently discovered the ice tray has developed a crack. The exact issue someone else here mentioned. If I had to guess, it's at most a $25 part. Because of the cracked tray, the icemaker dumps water into the ice bin, making the existing ice a solid chunk of frozen water. I don't need a service call! All I need is for Thor to send me the new part and I can replace the tray myself. It's a simple 5-minute job. My guess is they are hiding from me until the warranty runs out. I am beyond pissed with this company and their failure to stand behind the warranty and their product. I did a bit of research (sorry I did not do this prior) and Thor has a grade of F from the Better Business Bureau!!! ... show more

  • Good Refrigerator; Low Capacity Ice Maker
I've had this refrigerator for about 3 months and it has performed well so far. I was looking for a counter-depth model with two freezer drawers and this model looks identical to the Bosch B21CL80SNS36, which is $2,500 on Amazon. If you haven't had a counter-depth refrigerator, you lose about 25% interior space so that takes getting used to, but on the positive side my wife likes being able to more easily reach to the back. The only disappointment is the ice maker. It only makes about a quart or a bit more of ice per day (by weight). The user manual says the capacity is 1.1 - 1.2 Kg per day, (2.2-2.4 lbs) so it makes what it says it will make, but if you use much ice this won't cut it. The ice maker capacity is not listed with the product description on the web page. Oct 15, 2018 update. After six months the refrigerator continues to perform well but the left had door "flap" that forms the seal with the right had door would not engage the slot at the top to close the flap to seal the doors. I had to put a spacer (included with refrigerator) on the bottom left hand door hinge to raise the door enough so the pin on the top of the flap would engage the slot and close. Not a big deal once I figured out what to do but I hope the door doesn't sag any more since there doesn't appear to be room for another spacer. Update August 2020: Have now had this Thor counter-depth refrigerator almost 2 1/2 years with no problems other than the door described in the Oct 2018 update above. As noted in the original review, my only complaint remains the low-volume ice-maker. ... show more

  • Piece of crap
Refrigerates fine, and ice maker works well (slower than any other fridge I've owned, but at least it works), but the unit is overall a poorly designed and cheaply manufactured appliance. After only a few weeks of purchase... the handles do not tighten properly and continually fall off. The mounting screws don't thread properly and don't reach in far enough to get a firm grip to hold the handle in place. Three of the four have fallen off (and yes, I did install them correctly.) Shelves are cheap quality and have a wide brace that gets in the way of items on the shelf below. Left door must be forced shut -- doesn't fit well into the groove made to seal the gap between the french doors. Would NEVER buy from these guys again! ... show more

  • Ice maker
The fridge is okay but there are few things that don’t work well. The ice maker does not make enough if we use the ice every day and when it makes the ice it makes a loud noise. After having the fridge for a year the ice cube box cracked and water filled the ice cube storage box and froze the pool of water. We have tried to contact Thor about this issue but there was no response. Finally after a month we contacted the sales department and they forwarded our info to the service department. The service department asked for all our info again and we sent pictures of the broken ice tray. They have not replied and has been 3 month now. We are so disappointed and dejected about their products and services. ... show more

  • I love it!
Love everything about “Thor.” It’s quiet. It works! It’s gigantic, due to it being cabinet depth we had no problem getting it through the entry way. Ice maker may be slow however it’s fine for out family. My other (Samsung, brand-new) fridge literally fell apart, and the compressor died after 5 years. Hopefully “Thor” will last much much longer! ... show more

  • Worst investment in a major appliance ever
2yr2mo The compressor went out Ridiculous this was supposed to be my fridge that lasted. This will cost $1600 and a delay of 2 months to fix and I only purchase for $1800 and change I’ve never felt so ripped off in my life Needless to say I want be repairing it Words can’t express my disappointment in a Thor product that has an LG compressor but because it is t an LG refrigerator it is t covered under the class action suit regardless of the compressor model Oddly enough I was buying two fridges for my garage this week and now I have to replace this as well. ... show more
