This laptop works quite well. I have been using a 2012 Dell desktop that opens applications quickly, but this laptop is quicker. It turns on and restarts faster also. This is using Linux Mint Mate 21.1 that I put on with a clean install removing windows completely. The install was easy using a USB. The first time I tried installing Mate, I had to change usb ports to get everything recognized. Which is common among computers and may work the opposite way the next time one uses a usb to boot. It has a place for internet firewire that was not shown in photos, plus uses WIFI. I connected to a Brother Printer using Mate quickly. I've been using the laptop 10 days as of now. I would buy again at this point. Also, its Much quicker than an Acer Aspire 2007yr I had. ... show more

Very good computer. My prior computer crashed. Someone hacked into it. This one is very good and do financial software on it mostly. I couldn't believe the price. Now is the write time to buy one.

Other than this being lightweight, I don't really like much else about the computer. The keyboard feels like it's made out of plastic, it takes forever to boot up, when you're listening to the headphones, it buzzes like an ungrounded car stereo, the graphics card is jacked and continues to pop-up saying that there is an error, and you can't download/open certain items because it indicates that you're not an administrator. Oh, the powercord feels fragile and screen feels unsteady. Over time, your laptop will be loose which leads to all types of other issues. Please do not be fooled by the specs and price. You will have to purchase another laptop soon. I returned it (which has been over 18 days ago - still have not received my refund). The good news is I spent a little bit more and was able to get a laptop that works like a charm! ... show more

I got the cheaper Thomson laptop for my kids school work but decided i needed something a little stronger for myself. this is exactly what i needed: 15 inch screen but much lighter than my dell work laptop, 1tb hdd + 8gb ram is just enough to install vscode/python and other software i need. this laptop honestly looks really nice for the price, doesn't look cheap although well have to see how it holds up. so far, 5 stars! ... show more
