Between this item and the Berkley Line Counter, I've managed to save hundreds of feet of expensive braid fishing line. This rig helps take the guess work out of line lengths removed and remaining on commercial line spools. With a little creativity and an old, otherwise useless fishing rod anybody can make themselves a basic line measuring and spooling rig.

Does the job fine. i clamp it to a table, pop a spool of line in, and reel away. It's a bit low quality but more than enough if you're only going to need it a handful of times a season. Only complaint is i wish the springs were a bit stronger, to provide a bit more tension for the line. It still feels a little loose when reeling onto the spool, and i like the line to be a bit tighter on my reel.

The springs dig into the aluminum parts and shave metal off it pretty bad, that’s the loud noise you hear while using it. I’ve fixed this by adding 4 harder steel washers around the springs. It works better, and does a pretty good job of spooling on line.

Made with sturdy components. The spooler was easy to set up and use. It's compact and stores easily. It quickly and securely clamps tables, workbenches, and desktops. It had sufficient tension on the spool when putting line on a reel that the line was nice and tight.
