It's a a good fix for only $12. I have a Garmin Edge 1000 and it broke on one side after hitting a large Pothole that almost causes me to crash. Installation: 1. The Garmin Edge 1000 doesn't have screw holes. I had to set the new adapter over the old adapter and pilot the holes with a tiny drill bit and drill slowly about 1/8 deep, careful not to drill to the battery. I only drilled the 4 corners. The middle is the speaker. 2. I lightly sanded the top of the old adapter and the inside of the new adapter with 120 Grit Sand paper and cleaned every thing with alcohol and wipes. 3. I traced out the template on the 3M adhesive and cut out the shape with a razor blade. What a pain but it worked. 4. I put on the 3M adhesive around the edge, added LOCTITE Super Glue on top of the old adapter away from my pilot holes and on the inside of the new adapter. Put the new adapter over the old adapter, applied pressure, and aligned the screw holes. Inserted the screws and tightened. I took one screw out at time, added Super Glue and put the screw back in and tighten. I did this for all the screws. I have a 100K ride this weekend and it should hold up. Will post results on reliability and quality.

It did a good job on fixing the back of my edge 1000. The screw driver included was a little smal for my hands but I used some super glue to help set it and then the screws to really lock it in. 200 miles later and it’s holding great.

I have a light that has a unique mount. I got it for the uniqueness except that I lost it... I have plenty of Garmin mount, so I can modify it with this to use it again. The installation on the particular light will require drilling holes for screws.

Update - Seller contacted me after I posted this review. They were obviously concerned about receiving only three stars and wanted to make it right. The quickly sent me a replacement. I have revised the review to 5 stars as a result. The product is fine, the problem with the adhesive is not their fault and could have been an anomaly. I really appreciate it when a seller expresses real concern and makes an effort to make it right. Used this to mount a Mobius camera on a Garmin handlebar mount. The tape wasn't strong enough to withstand the twist force required to twist into the Garmin mount so I only gave three stars. I wound up attaching it to the camera with CA glue.

Only lasted half a ride before it popped off. The 3M tape alone should have performed better than this and we used both the tape and the screws.

My Garmin's mount cracked off and efforts to secure using JB Weld failed. I was searching for a replacement back for my Garmin and found this style as an alternative. I purchased this one and used the included screws but opted for CA (Superglue) to be the adhesive. Worked very well and I'm back in business for very little cost. Easy to install and so far holding well!

The instructions are adequate. WHERE to you place the "Cut to Fit" 3M tape???? Do you cut it like a washer? Or, do you cut it the size of the top of the old mount where the 5 metal pieces are and then put the replacement part over it, screw the screws in and then enforce with Super Glue?
