This is quick to heat water and it stays warm in the tank for a surprisingly long time. Easy to install, at least for me (under the kitchen sink). I plugged this into the same under-sink electrical outlet that powers my dishwasher and disposer. To prevent an electrical overload and operate the water heater only when needed (and NOT when operating those other items) I added an "Ortis Router Table Switch with Large Stop Sign Paddle" just inside the sink cabinet. Bought the 1.3 gal as a preheater for a kitchen faucet that has a long pipe run to the house water heater. It works ok for this purpose but as many other people have said, the temperature is not consistent. This may be due to water stratification or a cheap temperature sensor. Don't know but it's bad enough that you don't want to use it for a shower. The water temp just varies too much. I also plan to remove and clean the unit every year and clean/check the replaceable anode rod. Last thing I need is for this thing to leak water on the kitchen floor. ... show more

Not sure if I installed it correctly. Constantly needed to reseat the high pressure valve, finally got it done. Not much hot water like in the old electric heaters had the lower element not kicking on. When the light goes off it should be as hot as it gets, but I only get maybe a quart of hot water.
