  • Amazing PSU
Style: Gold ATX 3.0 Size: 750W Color: Black
Ordered this PSU to revive my mother’s Computer for her. Exceeded my expectations. Functions excellent, awesome value, and it’s quiet. The cables are so nice and easy to route and I love all of the port options. Replaced a Corsair PSU and I’ll be buying these from here on out.

  • This power supply causes constant crashes and has severe fan speed issues.
Style: Gold ATX 3.0 Size: 1650W Color: Black
This power supply has crashing issues when the GPU is under load. It also has fan speed issues that seem arbitrary and almost unrelated to GPU loading. For example, when playing a game utilizing 99% GPU load, looking at complex geometry, the fan may not even be audible. However, looking at the ground with GPU load dropping to less than 95%, the fan ramps up to maximum speed and is extremely loud. The variable nature of this is actually much worse than a constant loud speed as this power supply can never decide which games, or which moments in which games to ramp up the fan. It is literally constantly going from minimum to maximum and back again. I RMA'd my first unit, used multiple 12V gpu cables to my 4090, used cablemod cables, used both 12V slots on the supply, and nothing would remedy this problem. However the biggest issue is the random crashing. Much like how this unit cannot decide how to use it's fan, it can also not decide which games under which loads to crash. I am one of the few people who bought and played Immortals of Aveum, and this game was an incredible pain to get through because my computer would constantly crash, just straight to black screen, with the GPU fan maxing out during a crash, and requiring me to hold the power button of the computer to get a complete shutoff before powering on again. Then the very next day I play Last of Us Part 1, which also maxes out my GPU load, 10 hours of playtime, no crashing. Look at the other 1 star reviews. You'll see this exact problem repeated in them: black screen crashing with fans maxing during crash. I do not recommend that anyone purchase this gpu, and wish I had gotten a refund earlier as now I am stuck with a paperweight that I am replacing with an MSI MEG AI1300P, by all accounts a similar but hopefully more stable power supply. ... show more

  • Carefull, Error in my favor
Style: Gold ATX 3.0 Size: 1200W Color: Black
Planning to update my rig I picked up the 1200W with 12VHPR. It for some reason was priced a bit lower than the 1000W. I ended up deciding upon a AMD Graphics card and X870 motherboard. Oops my bad. This power supply is really meant for 4000 series GPU. I am short one PCIE cable and 12VHPR is unused. Luckily I was able to pick up a 12VHPR to 3 PCIE conversation cable. Awesome now I have 2 extra PCIE for future if I ever need them and can easily switch out to a 12VHPR GPU. WIN WIN. Power supply is good and not noisy. The provided cables are good, just be aware it is intended for 4000 series GPU. ... show more

  • Quick and easy to install
Style: Gold ATX 3.0 Size: 850W Color: Black
This PSU was super easy to install and very quick to do so as well. Its modularity made it easy to customize the cables I needed for my specific hardware. After doing so, managing the cables was very quick and not hard at all. I was able to install this unit in less than an hour.

  • Very good performance, silent, ATX v3.0 and PCIe 5.0, but QC should be better.
Style: Gold ATX 3.0 Size: 850W Color: Black
The Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 850W is there with the top performing PSUs. The unit is fully modular, is compatible with ATX v3.0 and PCIe 5.0, it comes with PCIe Gen 5 16-pin 12VHPWR connector and it runs almost silent. When the fan runs, it has to be hot, it only produces 30dB of noise at full speed, which is the quieter fan on my computer. Also the Smart Zero Fan switch allows the PSU fan to operate at high loads, so it does not even run most of the time. I come from the GF1 series which offers similar performance and still going strong after 5 years running. This Thermaltake GF3 comes with top of the line components, as good or better than other overpriced models. The cables are a bit stiff, because they are thick (16AWG), which allow then to deliver voltage at high loads without getting hot. Talking about cables, two of the PCIe 8-pin cables were missing, even though the package was sealed. Quality Control (QC) should have caught the missing cables. I found out when I was already building the computer and was about to power the GPU. Thermaltake did send the cables, but the whole process set me back two weeks. The Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 850W is a solid unit, it is fair priced and it comes with a nice 10-year warranty. ... show more

  • Very good power supply! Solved the coil whine on my GPU
Style: Gold ATX 3.0 Size: 750W Color: Black
I see several detailed reviews here so I'm going to keep this one quick and straight to my experience. I recently upgraded my computer and ended replacing every part except the drives and the power supply (an almost 6-year old EVGA G3 650W); everything worked fine but while gaming my new RX 7800 XT produced an annoying coil whine which tempted me to return it, however I decided to give a try first and upgraded the power supply to this Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 750W, with it the coil whine magically went away! As other reviews point out, this power supply is very silent and the cables are long although a bit stiff for my personal preference, however they are usable. By the way, this 750W power supply comes with a PCIE Gen5 cable rated at 300W. ... show more
