  • Excellent Cost-Effective Unit - Works as Advertised
Size: 10mm Focal Lens 256x192(50HZ) Effective P... Color: Grey
The media could not be loaded. [This review is for the TPC-K20-G10] Everything is working as advertised - in fact I would say that I’m more impressed with the unit than I expected to be. This monocular compares favorably to the other 256px models in the same price range (the competitor is $100+ more expensive depending on the day). I don’t really want to stop using it ever since I’ve taken it out of the box, it’s like having a superpower! I’ve used plenty of thermals before including clip on and integrated nv/thermal devices, but wanted a simple scouting camera for personal use and managed to catch this one during a sale. It had zero reviews at the time that I bought it but it claims to have a two year warranty and Amazon is pretty good about returns, so I took the risk. So far I’ve tested it at 50ft (15m) indoors, but I’ll update my review once I’ve tested it out to the advertised range of 416 meters and beyond. It comes with, but doesn’t advertise this much in its product description, a laser rangefinder of some sort. From reading the manual it seems to work by measuring a target from top to bottom (you input whether that is a small, medium, large animal, or a person) and it gauges distance using that info. I’m not sure if that’s legitimately more simple/cheap to make than the sort of laser rangefinders hunters or golfers use or not, and haven’t tested this feature yet. Since it wasn’t advertised I didn’t take it into consideration when I bought the product, if it works as advertised it will simply be a nice bonus for me. The battery hasn’t needed a charge yet, it came at 2/3rds and hasn’t dropped down to 1/3rd yet after two hours of walking and occasionally recording, so I expect it does hold up to their claim of ~9 hours on a charge. It’s a lot of fun to walk around the house and look backwards to see your footsteps heat imprints, or to look at electronics to see if they’ve been turned off recently (or if they even have an ambient heat signature despite being off for hours and hours - spooky!). Handprints also leave a signature for a bit after using an item, so I could see this being really handy for not only hunting and hiking but police work. If you’re a handyman, this thing will show you every heat leak with impeccable detail, and now I’m able to confirm what I only previously suspected about my home repair contractors shoddy work. Finding hot water and air pipes and differentiating them is a breeze, of course. If you’re familiar with thermals you know that sometimes it does that thing where it clicks and pauses the displayed image for a second, regardless of price or quality (except maybe the unobtainable stuff that militaries use). This unit does that *rarely*, and it seems to mostly be at very close range, like looking at your own feet or closer. Observing things further away seems to trigger it less. This unit is mountable to a j-arm, and unlike most digital night vision it is actually plausible to use with a helmet. It has a nice rubber eyecup, and if you have a mounting system that doesn’t wiggle around much you can absolutely get this locked in where you want it. It’d probably be ideal in low light situations where your other eye can still see some details in wide FOV, but it does also have those colorful modes that do a pretty good job of illuminating obstacles as separate entities if you absolutely needed to use it in pitch black. It helps a lot to familiarize yourself with practice if you anticipate using it this way, but ideally you’d probably have this to compliment Gen 3+ NV for things like that. BUT if you want to get a skullcrusher and pretend you’re the Predator, yeah it’ll totally work for that. I’m having a fantastic time with this unit and like I said I’ll update it again, probably with a video, once I’ve tried to push it to the limits at which it can detect heat. Now that I’ve seen what this unit is capable of I’d love to compare it with the other products in their lineup! ... show more

  • I'm wowed.
Size: 15mm Focal Lens 256x192(50HZ) Effective P... Color: Yellow
After just dropping 1900$ for a entry level thermal scope I had low expectations ordering this. For the price point I was convinced it would be at my house for only a day or two and then returned. Well, it's still here. I am amazed by the quality of the picture this little gem produces. I'm just an end user, can't tell you about the tech inside, but hey, the results are great. Good picture at night, good picture during the day. I can clearly see where my door is leaking for instance. I can clearly see my neighbors yurt is leaking a lot of heat on the ceiling also. LOL. One thing that's not up to par, like most of the Chinese products, is the manual. There'a a fire tracking mode for instance. Very interesting for me since I am playing wild land firefighter in my time off. There is however no further mention of this mode anywhere. I have no idea what it does and how. ... show more

  • Thermal Imaging Monocular, Night Vision
Size: 15mm Focal Lens 256x192(50HZ) Effective P... Color: Yellow
Seems to be pretty good unit. There is a wrong direction in the instruction booklet, (at least in the booklet I got), it tells you to double press the power button to turn on the red laser, but you have to double press the zoom button to get it on. Pressing the power button either turns the unit off or puts it to sleep. Otherwise I like the monocular. I was able to see 3 raccoons at a distance of a little over 100 yards across a lake, on a rainy, foggy night. Hard to distinguish at that range, but they were clearly there. It's not as clear a picture as a $3000 thermal unit, but for use around the home it works pretty good. Buttons are a little stiff, but silent enough. I got the yellow unit, 15mm lens, figure it would be easier to find in dark. ... show more

  • Best value and great customer service if you need it
Size: 15mm Focal Lens 256x192(50HZ) Effective P... Color: Grey
I compared this product with two others in the same price range. The. kINSEI clearly outperformed the other two in poor weather conditions. If you’re not familiar with thermal optics, rain fog humidity really puts these things on their knees I have many animals running around in my backyard, so I had lots of opportunities for testing. There were many times when the KINSEI was able to see a squirrel in a tree where the other two were not. In the second photo you can see some deer that came through my backyard. The weather conditions were far from ideal. The two white blobs are bunnies. What’s the most impressive with this picture is that you can make out the roofline of the shed.In the top left of the picture this is important so I have a reference for where I’m looking at with the other two that would not have been visible. What’s the most impressive is. I had three occasions to contact the company with questions and concerns, and they immediately responded in a very clear manner. I really appreciate that and the real reason that I’m writing this review ... show more

  • Okay for short range
Size: 10mm Focal Lens 256x192(50HZ) Effective P... Color: Grey
Good to see something out there but if it’s farther than 50 yards and smaller than a cow good luck telling what it is because clarity is not good farther away pretty easy to use

  • Worked great
Size: 15mm Focal Lens 256x192(50HZ) Effective P... Color: Grey
The media could not be loaded. I took this thermal on a 4 day hog hunt. I didn't see a lot of hogs just one or two a sit but this thermal worked great and I was able to see and identify animals much easier then with my IR scope. I could clearly see and identify animals out to about 200 yards and unlike the IR scope I could see animals through grass or brush with ease. The battery life was good for 7 hour sits. Still had 2 out of three bars left at the end of the night. Thermal definitely works better after a cool day though then a hot one as can be seen in the video. I could still see and identify animals though. I only used it for the one long weekend so I am not sure about the longevity. ... show more
