As mentioned in other reviews, this device works in keep mosquitoes away. It is extremely durable and easy to charge and use. It did take 2-3 hours to charge, so plan ahead. This repellant does NOT keep away other flying and biting insects, which in New England are black and green flies in the spring and biting midges (no-see-uhms) in the summer. They will find you, especially your legs, ankles, and feet which means you still have to use some type of topical repellant to be safe. The repellant cartridges for the device are pricey and reviews for the non-branded replacement cartridges do not seem too encouraging, so be prepared to pay premium for mosquito control. In my opinion, it is worth it since it makes sitting in my backyard more tolerable.

Great repeller! I had an older version of thermacell that didn't want to charge anymore so I upgraded to this version. I used it at multiple swim meets this summer and no one in our tent got mosquito bites. It's quick to charge and very easy to swap out the cartridges. I found the cartridges to last about 18-19 hours, just a little shy of what they were rated but I'm ok with that. It works and I didn't get eaten alive which is the reason why I bought it. I highly recommend it since it's easy to carry and set up, and doesn't leave a sticky film on your body or have a strong smell.

The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is the lack of usbc. Took this backpacking in Wisconsin after a flood. We used it every time we stopped or set up camp. We were wearing bug head nets and dousing ourselves in deet to be able to make the hikes. Once we stopped and turned this thing on it was glorious. Doesn't work while moving but super happy with performance at camp/ lunch break

Can I give this zero stars? I was so excited to try it the first time and enjoy the beautiful protection it claims to provide. I had it up and running before the bewitching hour to make sure I was protected from start to finish. I was also never further away than 3 feet. First, it started with one mosquito, then another bit my forearm. Before I knew it, a full on swarm of mosquitoes was on top of me. Had there been a lake next to me, I may have considered jumping in it. Not only do I not think it worked, an argument could be made that it called the mosquitos to the area.

Purchase this last summer after reading through a ton of reviews on different products. The unit is easy to charge, and very easy to replace the cartridges. The cartridges are a bit spendy, however, you can usually get a deal. The absolute best thing about this product is that it works. You can see the little mist coming out the top pretty much as soon as you switch it on. I come from being a tasty option for our Moschino, to an absolute no go area, and I love it. Definitely recommending.

The mosquito is familiary referred to as the "state bird" in Minnesota. With lots of lakes and rivers, mosquitos are prevalent during summer months. Often ruining a beautiful summer evening — when we only really have warm weather half of the year, and only a couple months that are really warm. Thermacell is the difference between enjoying the outdoors and slapping yourself silly. I use this USB powered one when I plan to do work outside, especially good for being in the woods on our river property. The patio unit is great for dinners on the deck, as it matches up with the 3-4 hour outside time window. I had an issue with my unit, and customer service promptly resolved the problem for me. Cannot recommend any higher! Just love them.
