I got these for use in my Cumrige Automatic Litter Box, model M2 . They have a mild scent that does seem to mask smells moderately well, but I was disappointed to learn that they don't actually absorb or neutralize odors. They are easy to use: just tear open the package and drop the deodorizer in the space in the waste bin created for that purpose. After a week of use, they work reasonably well to provide a faint, pleasant scent. At $30 for 6 ($5 each!), these are a terrible value for the money. They are available on Amazon in larger packs for as little as $1.58 each (March 2026). If you want to truly eliminate odors, fill some mesh bags with zeolite and put them under the plastic bag and in the spot where deodorizer goes. It's inexpensive, and zeolite can be refreshed by putting it in sunlight for a few hours or in the oven at very low temp.

I use these odor eliminator gel bars in my first generation litter robot. I simply set the bar inside the bottom tray. I added a photo to show 3 gel bars at different stages. One is shriveled up after 6 weeks, middle one has been in there 2 weeks, and the top one I just opened. Gives you an idea how long they last. Having a multi cat household I’d say these gel bars are effective and help control the odor. Initially, it has a strong scent but it doesn’t linger. The bar size could be bigger. They’re about the size of a single use hotel bar soap. They are slimy and wet straight out of the package. Realistically, I’d say the longevity of one bar controls the odor for about two weeks. Overall, I will continue to use them. Controlling cat litter box odor is a constant thing. Scooping the box several times per day is not enough to rid the odor. It is a huge compliment when visitors in my home say they can’t tell I have seven cats. When they ask how I control the odor I show them these gel bars.

I picked these up to help manage the “opening the drawer surprise” in my automatic litter box, especially with a rescue kitten (Gritty) now in the mix. Short version: they help but not in the way you might hope. First, the good: they’re ridiculously easy to use. Tear one open, drop the sticky thing in the compartment, done. No mess, no setup, and they fit fine even in a generic robot litter box not just the branded one. The scent is noticeable right away (a strong floral scent), and it definitely makes that first whiff when you open the bin a lot less offensive. But here’s the honest part- this is more of a cover-up than a fix. It doesn’t really neutralize odor so much as layer over it. If your box is already getting funky, this won’t magically clean that up. It just makes the experience slightly less brutal when you deal with it. Not very effective for controling odor, especially for the price. Longevity is also… okay. You’ll get maybe 1–2 weeks of real effectiveness per gel puck before it shrinks down and loses impact. With six in a pack, that adds up faster than you’d expect, especially if you’re running a multi-cat setup or just trying to stay ahead of smells. Where I land on it: This is a “nice add-on,” not a core solution. If you’re already scooping/emptying regularly and just want that extra buffer, it helps. If you’re hoping to rely on this to handle litter box odor on its own, you’re going to be disappointed. Gritty doesn’t care either way, but your nose will notice… just not enough to call it a game changer.
