These Thereye Odor Control Gel tablets are designed for the SC06 automatic litter box, which has a compartment in which you place the gel tablets. I don't have that model litter box, or one that has any sort of compartment to hold the gel tablet. I simply dropped the gel tablet directly into the litter box bin. The gel tablets are individually sealed in foil, and when you take one out of it's packaging, it's moist and slimy. The advertising claims each gel tablet can last up to 30 days, which I actually believe given their size. But I don't think they're nearly as effective as eliminating odors, especially ammonia, as they claim. There is a noticeable cover up of odors when I open my automatic litter box bin, but in no way is the odor eliminated, not even close. I describe the result as reducing very unpleasant odor to not quite as unpleasant odor, but the unpleasant odor is still there. This minimal improvement may be acceptable, a little improvement is still better than none at all, but at over $4 per gel tablet, it's not worth the money. Maybe these work better in the automatic litter box they're meant to go into, but I don't think the difference in placing these gel tablets in a custom compartment above the litter bin versus directly into the litter bin itself is going to make a drastic difference.

This gel was added into a three-cat household that has dealt with litter box odor for years, especially when opening the waste compartment of an automatic box. Installation is simple—just unwrap and place—and it begins working within the first day, softening that initial impact when checking or emptying the bin. In enclosed systems, the effect is more noticeable, making the routine a little less harsh and more manageable. It can also be adapted to standard litter boxes, even taped along the side, which adds some flexibility beyond the intended design. There are tradeoffs, however. The gel does not fully neutralize odor and functions more as a reduction or masking layer, which becomes more apparent in a multi-cat setup where waste volume is higher. I use these odor eliminator gel bars in my first generation litter robot. I simply set the bar inside the bottom tray. I added a photo to show 3 gel bars at different stages. One is shriveled up after 6 weeks, middle one has been in there 2 weeks, and the top one I just opened. Gives you an idea how long they last. Having a multi cat household I’d say these gel bars are effective and help control the odor. Initially, it has a strong scent but it doesn’t linger. The bar size could be bigger. They’re about the size of a single use hotel bar soap. They are slimy and wet straight out of the package. Realistically, I’d say the longevity of one bar controls the odor for about two weeks. Overall, I will continue to use them. Controlling cat litter box odor is a constant thing. Scooping the box several times per day is not enough to rid the odor. It is a huge compliment when visitors in my home say they can’t tell I have seven cats. When they ask how I control the odor I show them these gel bars.

I have the thereye litter box and was so excited when I saw these. They look a d smell just like the original does but it doesnt seem to hold in order all that well anymore. I could swear the ones with my litter box lasted several weeks. Now they dont seem to do anything after about 3-4 and thats with 2 of them in there. They had to have changed the formula since i got my litter box. They do work just not as well as the original.

Each puck is roughly 35 mm by 50 mm, though it’s hard to get a precise measurement because they squish a bit, which also makes exact measurements unnecessary. They were small enough to fit into both of my automatic cleaners -- the PetKit Puramax 2 and the KYKY S6 -- without any issues. The KYKY doesn’t include a holder, so I used a custom accessory for that one. They also fit into a generic, fully enclosed manual litter box’s puck holder, so I think the size will work for most setups. The scent is a massive floral burst; I’m pretty sure it’s lavender. Like most scented pucks, it mainly masks the stench when you open the door to empty the waste bin. With how strong these are, they’ll definitely handle that job well. They’re the type that slowly drips into the spent litter over time until only a tiny, dry, rubbery chunk is left. Each puck is individually sealed, and the six‑pack comes in a closable plastic box. The listed shelf life is 12 months if left unopened. They’ll do the job, and they have more scent than others I’ve tried while still being small enough to fit anywhere. The only question is whether a premium version makes sense when the main benefit is just making the monthly litter change a little less unpleasant compared to a more basic puck.
