After receiving some ridiculously high quotes for renting a dance floor for my wedding in June, I began searching Amazon for another option. After spending countless hours searching and ordering other interlocking mats, I decided on keeping & ordering the Sorbus Interlocking floor mat. These mats look fabulous, feel fabulous, and are 1/3 of the cost of renting an indoor 300 sqft. dance floor. Pros 1) Theses mats are waterproof but do not become overly slippery when wet. The liquid pools up for easy cleanup and doesn't seep through cracks, so I am not worried about spilled drinks or potentially losing my security deposit for the wedding venue (which is higher than the cost of these floors). 2) These mats do not slip on carpet or tile- especially when you increase the square footage being covered. If you are still nervous about this because you think your party will be doing a lot of line dancing or shuffling in the same direction, Amazon sells double sided tape that could adhere the Sorbus tiles down to carpet or tile. I am thinking my group will be just doing a lot of off-beat, bad dancing, so I am choosing on taking the risk of minimal tile movement rather than using adhesive that might ruin the venue floor I am trying to protect. Please note that if you tried to install these tiles over extremely cushion-y carpet, you are likely to have the interlocking tiles slightly separate. Thankfully, my venue doesn't have anything remotely close to shag carpet, so this really shouldn't be an issue. 3) These mats feel fabulous on your feet, especially when you are barefoot. Mens dress shoes, flats, and wedges do not damage these floor tiles at all. Stiletto heels or any fat heels do make marks/divots in the floor even with light use (not full punctures like some people have stated). When you have bare feet, the floor is a bit noisy as your foot pulls off the mats. This might be something to consider if you are planning on using these tiles in your house. Please note that these characteristics were the case with all foam interlocking tiles, not just for Sorbus tiles. 4) The assembly/ disassembly of these mats is a breeze. Please note that these mats are sent to you with 2 of the edge pieces assembled, which means that you can't easily assemble them with the "wood" grain flowing in the right direction the moment you unpack them. I would recommend that the moment you unwrap, remove all edge pieces to assemble the bulk of the floor and then go around to attach the edging. Also note that there are 2 types of edging - corners & straight. They are easy to tell apart, but I thought I would mention it just in case you are trying to assemble efficiently and quickly. 5) These mats do have a slight edge (3/8" thick). My parents were concerned about drunk people tripping (but let's be serious, drunk people could trip on a painted line), so I went ahead and ordered some "Rubber Transition- 3/8" thickness Tile/Carpet Joiners" I found on a site called Koeffler (cheaper than anything I could find on Amazon). These black rubber borders really make this dance floor look like the real deal when its floating in the middle of a room while also making it safe for drunk people who may be dragging their feet. I will update with before/after pictures on the condition after a full night of 140 people dancing on them. I have already accepted that I am using these out of the scope they are intended for and definitely putting them to the extreme test. However, with how much money I will be saving over the alternatives of renting a floor or forfeiting my security deposit I am okay with taking this risk. ... show more

I bought these tiles, because my concrete floor in my basement had flooded. I had had a carpet on it before. This certainly doesn't look as nice, but it's affordable. I made the mistake of getting the gold marble print, because I thought that you couldn't see the "jigsaw" print as well in the floor pictures. You can't see it that well, so that's nice, but it's a pretty ugly color and now I'll have to change the color of the walls. It's comfortable to walk on and so far has held up well. If I could do it again I wouldn't pick this marble style, but a wood style. I bought these again for my laundry room and this time I did do the wood print. When they arrived they looked thinner and felt lighter. Compared it to my older ones and it does seem a bit thinner, but the biggest difference now is that the "yellow marble" ones had a softer backing to them and these do not. They do not seem as soft or supportive.........they are firmer. ... show more

Our room over the garage has been used as a bedroom/lounge for at least 4 different individuals over the years. Therefore the white berber carpet was shot. I ripped it and the padding out leaving just the subflooring. I wanted something easy to install and craft/sewing room friendly. I came across these tiles and decided to give them a try. I did have to cut tiles to fit room but was able to do so with box knife. Cut on bottom side so not too scuff up patterned side. A large format guillotine type paper cutter would great but didn't have access to one. The gap left by the carpet and padding was enough the slide the mat edges under the baseboards for a clean look. The door threshold was the only area that I had an issue but that was due to the house and not the tiles. I do recommend getting a computer desk chair mat to protect the tiles if computer chair will be used. Also order more than you need in case you cut wrong or on gets damaged it can easily be replaced. Animals may find it hard to find traction. My standard poodle loves this stuff but looks like Scooby Doo trying to run when he gets the zoomies. I have one cat that likes to claw at it but since it's a denser foam it tends seals it's self and not noticeable. Didn't get much off gassing smell from them but I did open then up and left them in garage a couple days just in case. Definitely use moving men when sliding heavier furniture since it is foam and can catch or tear. Overall I'm happy with them. ... show more

I purchased these tiles to replace the worn carpet I have in my family play room and these tiles are simply wonderful. Installation was easy, the tiles connect beautifully and I love the fact that it's foam. Because it has a bounce to it and it's not hard. My 14 year old son tested it for bounce, rolling etc and he approved it for use 😂😂. Now, he wants me to remove the carpet from his room and replace it the foam tiles. The mats were easy to install, and honestly they look magnificent. However, they damage all too easily. Basic furniture such as chairs and cabinets can produce irreparable indentations, even holes in the mats. The legs of a sitting chair made four holes in three of the mats after a single day's use. Of course, they can be replaced without much trouble, but given the expense this should not be an issue. I wish the manufacturer had provided a warning of some sort that this could be the case. For that matter no instructions of any kind came with the product. So, as a general caveat: be careful what you place on these mats. ... show more

The description was vague so I didn't know what I was getting. Wow that's a lot of tiles, comfy for my dance practice with just enough traction.Plenty of extra edges to reconfigure.
