  • Blade warped after two months of use, shovel useless after that, non-existent sustomer service
Size: 48-Inch
As per another reviewer's experience, our 48" blade also warped after only a half a season (2014) of use. This resulted in only a portion of the blade being effective when pushing and having to reclear the same path more than once. I attempted to contact the manufacturer for warranty replacement (the company advertises a one-year warranty) in May of 2015 via email but never received a reply. It is not always the mistake but rather how the company responds to the customer that determines one's happiness with the product. Their lack of response is the reason for my low review. Discarded the shovel and purchased another SnowPlow Snow Pusher 48" instead (already had one), which has a thicker blade and not prone to warping. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY!! The blade will warp.
Size: 48-Inch
I bought this in the end of November 2018. Put it together in the middle of December 2018. It’s now the middle of January 2019, and we just got our first snow. I was excited to use this. But, I soon found out that the blade is warped. I have a 48’ blade and maybe only 7’ of snow is removed. I payed $80 for a useless snow shovel. DO NOT BUY THIS SHOVEL! I’d return this if I could. But it’s way past the point of being able to do so. ... show more

  • Worst Instructions Ever
Size: 48-Inch
You may think it's simple enough, however, there are 5 screws that come with it and written-only instructions on where it all goes. "Self-drill" screws for the lower part of handle (which direction does the handle go, who knows?), and a blue plastic piece that you have no idea where exactly it goes on this shovel. I'm waiting for the storm to use it (if we get the self-drill screws done correctly). I bought it because my neighbor has one and he loves it. He shovels his driveway twice as fast as me (same size) with, what looks to be, great ease. YouTube has nothing but a different handle version install instructions that is not helpful for this style. Come on Snowcaster, you can do better - simple photos will do the trick! ... show more

  • Way more fun than a snowblower.
Size: 48-Inch
This is 4-feet of everything I had hoped for. I have a long driveway that's downhill all the way to the garage. I have a guy who comes to plow whenever we get more than a few inches of snow. (I live in the North woods of Minnesota, so we get plenty of snow.) But if it's just a few inches, it's real easy to walk to the top and push a shovel to the bottom. I used to do it with a 2-foot wide shovel. Now I BLAST IT with my 4-footer. Three quick trips down the hill, and I've cleared my whole driveway. It is an incredible tool. Really solid, heavy enough to sit firm on the ground, but not so heavy that you have to be a gorilla to carry it. I highly recommend it for downhill use, but it's easy enough to push on level ground. I did the pad of my 3-car garage plus a turnaround space in about 5 minutes or less. Zip, zip, zip. Like other reviewers have said, it's not for deep snow or for lifting and tossing. By the way, I'm 68. All you young studs should be using one of these. 2019 ADDITION: It still works great. Now I'm 73 and had back surgery 4 months ago, but I'm still clearing my long downhill driveway quickly and easily. My driveway is very rough, so my shovel is showing a bit of wear on the blade, but it will take several decades before the wear affects my shoveling. The bad did warp the first summer. But I just elevated the ends and put a couple paint cans in the middle, and curved it right back into shape. ... show more

  • Well made with good hardware. Easy to assemble. Should last a long time.
Size: 36-Inch
For heavy snow in northern Ohio I have a large snow thrower. But for light snow, or for cleaning up after the snow thrower, for many years I've used a 19-inch Suncast brand "plastic" snow shovel with a steel edge and a pronounced curved profile. It's kind of a small light combo shovel/pusher and seems like it should last forever. But using it seemed to involve a lot of walking around, back and forth and so on, because it’s small. So I thought maybe I’d get a little bigger ergonomically styled shovel, but Consumer Reports didn’t seem to think much of that style. Then I saw these big 3 and 4-foot snow shovels. At first I thought they were ridiculous, but ordered one anyway after reading the favorable reviews. Well believe me this Snowcaster model just puts the old shovel to shame. For me at 70 years of age I bought the 36-inch model, which I thought would be more easily wielded than the 48-inch. Because of its width it saves a great deal of time compared to the old faithful Suncast. Sometimes I'll turn it to a 45-degree angle like a snowplow to avoid trailing snow coming off the side of the blade. You can just zip up and down your drive and be done in no time, provided the snow is light. This product is well constructed and the hardware supplied for assembly is of good quality too. You will just need an 11-mm. wrench or two to put it together. One caveat. Overzealous snow shoveling can be very hazardous to your health, and especially to your heart !!! Seriously !!! So avoid the temptation to use this kind of big pusher as a shovel, especially if the snow is wet. Instead use a smaller shovel or get out the snow thrower. ... show more

  • Worth the cash!
Size: 48-Inch
Bought this hoping it would help me clear my 60' x 22' drive-way faster. Does definitely does! It is perfect for the 1-3" fluffy snow storms that aren't quite enough for the snow blower. The blade has enough of a curve to it that allows you to shovel it once you slide the snow to the pile. The blade is plastic which makes it perfect for wood decks (no scraping off the paint). The only thing I could see as an improvement would be to make the bracket that attaches the blade to the shaft out of aluminum. I know the cost would increase but at times I felt like it could break because of the amount of snow I was pushing. Overall very happy with this item. It use to take me 20+ minutes to clear my drive-way with a standard shovel; now I can do it in 5 minutes. UPDATE 1-10-17: Still loving this shovel. I didn't even have to get the snow blower out last year (and not this year as of yet). Holding up very. I'll probably order a 30" one to do deck steps, etc. Just a short rebuttal to the reviewer how posted about the blade warping. I'd put good money on it that the owner did not store the shovel on a flat surface, which caused it to warp. Sure it will... it's plastic. I did this once and fixed it by storing it on a flat surface with a couple weights on top. Straight as an arrow.. good as new. ... show more
