Enjoyed the book! I may have liked the Ritual better? Maybe only because I was new to the series though. I was worried how this booked was going to go since I didn't feel a connection to the characters or their relationship like I wanted at first. It felt very InstaLove since they knew each other since they were young. The psychopathic tendencies in all aspects of Sin and what Elli liked or didn't like, happened very fast and up front. Wish there was a little bit of a build up. As time went on, I started seeing a different side to Sin and the reasonings behind his decisions and I started to really like him more. The character development in Elli and learning her history made me like her more too. Great story with lots of dark elements, twist and turns, and bdsm spice. ... show more

This book was pure smut, there was not really a storyline besides sleeping around and then there was small incorporation of the Lords aspect. I liked the first book and had high hopes for this one but it wasn’t my favorite. I would say this was a dark romance book, but there was nothing romantic about it. I think all of the intimacy scenes became repetitious because they consist of Ellie needing to be tied up, mouth gagged and lots of pain, it was the same for the entire book. They also referred to the MFC being a wh*re the entire time, like I get in dark romance you liked to be called that but that was literally Ellie’s entire character, nothing else. I would say this is an okay read, especially if you want non stop s*x, this is your book. ... show more

Oh my goodness! I knew this story would be dark, but I didn’t realize just how dark it would get. I really felt for Ellington; she’s been through so much. First, she faced her stepfather, then her teacher, and finally Lincoln. Easton, also known as Sin, was the one who truly wanted herβ€”not because she would bend to his will (though she did) but for who she genuinely is. I loved Easton, though maybe not quite as much as Ryat. Sin will go to any length to get what he truly wants: his β€œlittle demon,” Ellington. This story is intense, I was crying on the inside for Elli. I also wanted to eliminate those that harmed her. If you’re up for a deep dive into the depravity that is 𝕋𝕙𝕖 π•Šπ•šπ•Ÿπ•Ÿπ•–π•£, you’ll love this book! But if you enjoy dark themes without such intense levels of depravity, this might not be the story for you. Definitely read the trigger warnings first.     • Good book, good read, very very dark - not romance
I have read my fair share of DARK romances, and I’ve read The Ritual by the same author and I liked it, the story line/plot makes you never want to put it down, same thing goes for this book, The Sinner, but is it romance? NO, not in my opinion, if anything I wish the author put more romance in their books - the romance that makes it enticing and can’t wait for the characters to finally have the breakthrough leading to the peak of what every reader of a 18+ book is looking for; the romance that you can relate to with dates, make you feel giddy, butterflies, sweet spontaneous moments or scenarios that reveal and prolong the stepping stones that lead to the relationship between the characters making you smile idiotically as you read wondering what’s going to happen next and their chemistry while also learning more about the characters themselves. If you want to read a dark book that entangles s*x as mostly the main plot from beginning to end with a storyline behind it then this is your book. As much of a good read it still was, that’s mainly what it is. Every chapter is dirty, ruthless, fetishized, sinful s*x and yes while on the other hand the main point of the book that it describes is exactly what was told/warned with its very sad and horrible story for the main character(s) that make you want to cry and hug them, you can’t help but read it and think β€œwow again?” β€œIs this all they do?” β€œHow can they love each other all they do is sleep together and that’s it?”, you might even get kinda bored with it. Again, I liked the book for what it was and what the author intended to write about but I would not call it romance. You can’t just have the characters say β€œI love you” and call it a dark ROMANCE, it takes more than just monstrous amount of sinful s*x, plot twists with a sprinkle of I love yous to include it as romance. This book is just a fetishized, very dark, very heavy storyline book. -1 star for there not being real romance. ... show more

First, I have to say the spice level is off the charts. This book is dark and will pull all of your emotions. You will get so invested in what’s going on, you won’t want to come up for air. Listen to them when they say this is a dark romance. There were things that I almost didn’t want to read, but I’m so happy I read until the end. I don’t want to give the story away, but if you can he handle the hard topics that are discussed, you should read it. It’s great! ... show more
