  • A true family movie
Fantastic film for the whole family! We saw it with some friends, so the ages ranged from 4 years old up to 80-something. Everyone LOVED it! The movie is well written, well acted and well made. There are a few dark moments and it is a murder mystery, so obviously it's a heavy topic. This is a film that doesn't talk down to its younger audience, but also knows how to engage its adult audience. This is the type of movie that has been missing for the last decade or so. Not a kids movie, but a family movie. ... show more

  • great who-dun-it for kids 8+
This is a review of the movie, not the Blu-ray disc. This was a nice family film. It was clean. It had some funny laugh out loud moments. It had some tear-y moments, but not too bad (very family friendly type). It dealt with a murder, but in a way that was not too depressing or stressful. The characters were a bit over the top as kids films usually do. But, the police officer and the sheep stole the show! I really think the film was as much about the sheep facing their fears and lack of experience, as it was about the police offer whose experience paralleled the sheep's... and they solved the mystery of who did it. It was quite a twist at the end and I did not see it coming (even though I probably have watched and read enough of these who-dun-its that I should have... but I was just enjoying the movie so much I really did not stop to figure it out for myself). Note: There was some discussion by the sheep about God, death, and church. We found it hilarious as it paralleled confusions even humans have... from kids through adults. Its easy to misunderstand things in life and it brought about some good discussions on our end of things as well as some good laughter. Overall, I feel this was a great who-dun-it for my 11 year old. My only complaint is that I felt there were a few missed opportunities for comedy and I did not laugh even once at the sheep running around the hotel scene (not really that big on slap stick comedy, but I guess little ones would enjoy it more). But even though it was a fun movie night out for mother's day, I am not sure if I will buy or rewatch the film. So it was good, we laughed hard, we were emotionally moved, shocked at the ending, and pleased with our time spent... but I want something not talking about death before I go to bed. So I guess for me, this is really good film and I would want to watch more films like this - absolutely, but just would not own it on DVD and replay it all the time. ... show more

  • Fun film
This is also a review of the movie, not the disc. Really fun, old fashioned family film. Good heart, comedy, sad moments, and an interesting conclusion. Highly recommended for anyone, including families!
