Description

Mia Hall (Chloe Grace Moretz) thought the hardest decision she would ever face would be whether to pursue her musical dreams at Juilliard or follow a different path to be with the love of her life, Adam (Jamie Blackley). But what should have been a carefree family drive changes everything in an instant, and now her own life hangs in the balance. Caught between life and death for one revealing day, Mia has only one decision left, which will not only decide her future but her ultimate fate. • Love!
Absolutely love this movie! I wish they made a part 2 because that would have been amazing. The plot is perfect and has a great mix of funny, sad, and heartwarming.

  • Makes me think of my family and whats important
If I stay is a beautiful, moving film about a teenage girl and the life or death decision she must make. Mia is a teenage girl that has a wonderful, quirky family, a boyfriend who loves her to pieces, and a bright, ambitious future. But, all of that changes when she and her family are in a fatal car accident. While Mia's body is in a coma, her mind journeys back to all of her memories, triumphs, heart breaks and future. She has to make the decision on whether or not to fight and stay alive, or let go and leave this world. Will Mia stay? I love this movie. It made me laugh, cry and it helped me to see all of the good in my own life that I should cherish, because you never know when it could all change. The cinematography is beautiful. Most of the film is filled with memories that Mia has and the way they are portrayed is very neat. The music is also beautiful. Mia is a cellist and a lot of the film focuses on her dreams of becoming a successful musician, so the film is filled with beautiful classical music. My Favorite character is Mia played by Chloe Moretz. This film shows so many aspects of Mia's life, so it's easy to find something to relate to. She has a great passion for playing the cello and dedicates most of her life to it. She has difficulties relating to her parents and even her boyfriend since their musicals tastes are far more edgy than hers. She has to face her insane loss and she has to choose between many different things in life. There's something about her life that I think anyone can relate to, so she's a wonderful character. Chloe does a wonderful job portraying everything she's going through and she moved me to tears many times. This film makes me think about my own family and everything I would do for them. It makes me think of my life and all the joys and sorrows I've faced. There was not a dry eye in the audience because this film provokes unique memories for every individual. I felt especially connected to Mia's family because I too have a younger brother and am very close with my parents, so I was very touched by Mia's situation. I give this film 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 13 to 18 because of the intense emotions and mature content ... show more

  • YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE & HAVE A BOX OF TISSUES WHEN YOU DO!
I can't say enough good things about this movie first of all the ALL the actors & actresses in this movie out done their roles even the Surgeon (John Emmet Tracy) & the Nurse (Aisha Hinds) gave amazing performances. This movie will have you laughing-crying hard-and screaming at your TV. I definitely bought a copy of this movie for my collection because it was that great. It will have you asking questions about your own mortality and the cosmic scheme of life itself. You will feel the impact of the movies message from the beginning to the end and it will no doubt give you a reason NOT to have any regrets in your own life. If you haven't seen it you need too! ... show more

  • I hated the ending because I wanted more.
Let me start off by saying that you won't regret watching if you love a tear-jerking love/drama story. Its similar to, Five Feet Apart, The Fault in Our Stars, The Best of Me, A Walk to Remember, Charlie St. Cloud, Me Before You, After, The Age of Adeline, To All the Boy's I've Loved Before, etc. (Btw, I've watched all of these) Mia's character is what trapped me in it. I didn't like Adam in the beginning because I thought he was going to be a jerk, but he grew on me. The way everything was set up in this movie was perfect. I cried for so long just imagining if that happened in real life. After losing everything, Mia is shone that there are still people rooting for and supporting her. It's a drama of a teen girl who goes through an unbelievable loss and is holding onto a love which really shows that opposites do attract. She has the choice of making her future in her dream University, Julliard, and losing the last love of her life or staying but being constantly reminded of the tragedy that left her where she is now. ... show more
