  • Movie is great, NEVER buying Amazon Digital again
I love the movie but didn't realise when you drop $15 on a digital copy you don't get to store it on your pc and download it. This would be a non-issue if Amazon's streaming service wasn't complete garbage. Also means, if they take the movie off the server, you don't have it anymore. Great. Good movie, I connected more to it than the first. Loved rocket (have a thing for raccoons) and the way they fleshed him out more. Better movie overall than the first and another rare Marvel movie that does more than the others and stands out from the formula just enough to make you notice. Not as ambitious as Ragnarok, but more personally relatable. ... show more

  • Movie was great follow-up to part 1
Movie was great follow-up to part 1. I felt like it was a little too mushy in relation to the "Star-Lord finding his long lost father". It was a good build up and reveal. But I felt like that took up more time than it should have. I get that they make movies to appeal to a broader spectrum of people aside from the Marvel crowd so they beefed it up in that aspect. But it was more obvious in this movie, especially with the extra Drax comedy relief moments. The scenery was amazing, character development was great, only real complaint was Rocket going backwards in a sense of achievement and attitude. They just made him sort of a jerk in the movie and his solitary action created a big ordeal. Overall still wouldn't kick this movie out of my collection by any means as is still has great replay value. I hope part 3 brings it all together and really makes this series the gold standard for action/comic book movies. ... show more

  • I'M MARY POPPINS Y'ALL !
Even though the first movie was awesome, I'd have to say Vol. 2 was better. The music was definitely better in Vol. 1, though. Yondu stole the scene with that line, "I'm Mary Poppins y'all!" Hilarious! Plenty of action, great comedic scenes, and some good character development. Story was interesting as well. I see critical reviews about the story being "light", "boring", "okish". It reminds me of my friend who felt the same thing about Star Wars. Or, how executives at FOX decided to cancel "Firefly".. These people don't connect emotionally to the movie "experience". They're more like "thought entities", deconstructing and appreciating it, on how it agrees with their thoughts. Interestingly enough, the story kind of delves into that. On whether existence is better with "meaning" and "purpose", or better experienced with "heart". It's that line from "Jerry Maguire", from Dicky Fox, "If this is empty (heart), this (head) doesn't matter." ... show more

  • Even better than the first movie!
I love, love this movie! I love all the characters and how they work together to save the Galaxy (again!) And, of course, Baby Groot steals the show. I watch it over and over, mostly to see the Baby Groot parts. However, as much as I love the characters (especially Baby Groot) there was a lot of special effects, which I know appeals to the younger audience. (I'm 68 and I like the characters and the humor better than the SFX.) Anyway, if you liked the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, you will love this one! ... show more

  • Marvel entertainment excellence.
This is a joyride with characters of good will. This is volume 2, and I have volume 1 also. This group of "savior's" goes around searching for the main character's true parentage (Peter Quill, starring Chris Pratt and a duo of Vin Diesel, from the movie Babylon A.D.) as the voice for the large creature Groot, and Dave Bautista (pro-wrestler) who is one of the Entourage of Peter Quill's group to help him find out his roots). This is an excellent Marvel outake incorporating all the typical Marvel CG photography, etc. So, you're in for the ride of your life! ... show more

  • A Lot Of Fun
When you mix sci-fi with a dash of comedy it doesn't always work. In this case, it does. this is why I think that the Marvel franchise is so sought after by "A" & "B" level stars. They want to be part of this genre before the large budgets disappear.Chris Pratt is right on target with his comedy & serious moments. So are the rest of the crew, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, "Rocket" voiced by Bradley Cooper and Groot voiced by Vin D. and Michael Rooker. also in the mix is S. Stallone, & Kurt Russell among other characters too numerous to mention but they do a very good job in their roles. This installment continues from the first and you should see that one before this. No more to say. Enjoy ... show more

  • Another 5 star Marvel
A great sequel to an awesome movie. Personally I thought the first one was a little better (I always like the character development in movies like this). But this was a great follow up to the original Guardians and still deserves 5 stars. I'm a huge Sci-Fi and Super Hero movie fan, but my wife not so much. But some how I got her to go see this in the theater and she just loved it. Liked it so much, she asked for it for her birthday. It's funny, action packed and full of great special effects. She also can't get enough of baby Groot. We watched it with a friend of ours who has no desire for this type of move, but when it was over she said "that was great, now I have to see the first one". If you like Sci-Fi, Super Heroes or just any type of action movie, this is for you! ... show more

  • They are called harbulary batteries
Guardians 2 starts right off with fun, and never a dull moment from then on. 19 MCU films now and this is on my top 5, and I think it's actually better than Guardians 1, which was fabulous. Michael Rooker's Yondu I liked from the beginning, I like him even more in this one. He may be a blue skinned alien pirate, but - don't we all know somebody just like him? Kurt Russell gets a turn playing god, in scenes reminiscent of Star Trek V but this movie is ten times better. The choice to score the Guardians films with 1970s pop music is in stark contrast to the hard core action film scores of the other Marvels, and just adds to the fun. ... show more
