Description

Getting a new iPhone is exciting; it can almost feel like getting a new toy. Nobody likes a toy that makes you read a lengthy manual just to figure out how the darn thing works! If you’ve already had an iPhone (or maybe sev-eral), then chances are you already know how it works. But the iPhone X will throw you a curveball because the Home button has been removed. I’ll help make sure you know how to use the shortcuts and gestures that go along with this transition. It will, of course, also cover all the new features added into iOS 12. This guide is formatted in a way to help you use your phone (and all its powerful features) as quickly as possible. I purposely have written this guide to be a little more casual and fun then what you expect from most iPhone manuals. The iPhone is a fun gadget, and any guide you read should be an equally fun read. Each chapter starts with bullet points on what will be covered, so if something you already know, you can skip right ahead; if you only need to know how to use new features, the book is also formatted in a way that these stand out. Are you ready to start enjoying your new iPhone? Then let’s get started! Read more

  • Way too basic and not very detailed.
Very basic; not very detailed or overly helpful. As a result, our two iPhone Xs act differently, but we can’t determine why by referring to this booklet.

  • IOS 12 with iPhoneX, XR, and XSMAX changes explained simply and clearly
I am a real iPhone fan, having owned several versions. I really like to have a physical book in my hand with illustrations showing me exactly how to get the iPhone X to be a fun experience. Brian is speaking to me in a fun way, like a friend sitting with me encouraging me to enjoy my iPhone XSMax to it's fullest. I appreciate Brian's attitude that we aren't wanting just facts, but how to really get excited and learning to get comfortable with the new and different gestures and changes in the new X iPhones and IOS 12. I am halfway through the book and have highlighted things that are more clear to me now on almost every page. I highly recommend this book to new iPhone X users to get up to speed with all the new features. ... show more

  • Very Basic
If you are new to the iPhone, then this book may help you get started. Experienced users, who are perhaps upgrading from an older iPhone and looking for info on new features and capabilities, may want to look elsewhere.

  • Inaccurate and Poorly Written!
Very disappointed in this book, and upset because it was to be a gift. It is clearly self-published, and not by anyone with any formatting skills. Page numbers in table of contents do not match the actual page numbers of the relevant text. Worst of all, I bought this because it is supposed to be about the iPhoneX, but it constantly refers to the home button, which no longer exists (and that is the whole reason one needs a book to learn about the new phone...)! The cover doesn't even look anything like the one in the listing, which is pretty irrelevant, but just adds to the level of apparent incompetency. ... show more

  • Frustrating
Dislike .........Table of content do not give proper page number. Quite irritating and frustrating!

  • Surprise. Really first rate.
I have been burned buying books that are only available on Kindle. So I bought this feeling unsure. But it was the only thing I could find on the new IPhone Xs. What a surprise. Very well written. Easy to understand. Well worth the small sum that I paid. And as the title says, a rediculously simple guide! ... show more

  • Don’t buy.
Table of contents don’t match pages. Overall a worthless text.
