  • Four 5 Star Books in One!!!
Last to Know (Willow Creek, #1) I fell in love with Maddox right from the start! Seriously Emma what took you so long?! Maddox is sweet, sexy and loves to live life to the fullest and he drags Emma out of her room & her books to finally experience everything life has to offer! It's an engaging journey of stepping out of your comfort zone and falling in love! Never Too Late (Willow Creek, #2) This book was amazing! Absolutely amazing! I had such a hard time putting it down once I started reading it, and I read it in a few sittings! The plot was written brilliantly! It had a lot in it and the main character hid a pretty big secret from the guy she loved! I could understand why she hid the secret though, as they were both young and her love interest said horrible things to her at a certain point! My mouth even fell open at the things he said to her! The main characters secret had a big impact on the plot though! There were also some twist and turns in the plot as well, which changed things! The plot also developed a lot further than I was expecting it too! I was really happy it did though because it showed the characters relationship development! The characters were amazing! Remy was the main female character, and I loved her! She was really easy for me to connect with! Remy also had this no caring attitude about her, but I felt like this was a bit of a façade as she acted like this to hide what she was really feeling and to make people think she was strong and okay! Remy was actually a really vulnerable character, which I could completely understand! She was also strong in her own way and had been through a lot! My heart went out to her when I found out what she had been through and the loss she had endured! It must have been so hard to go through something like that and then try and come to terms with it! Remy was just an amazing character, and I loved her! Mathias was the love interest of Remy, and he was seriously hot! He was also brooding and a bit arrogant! I mean, this made him that little bit hotter lol! Mathias really intrigued me in the first book in this series when he was a secondary character, so I couldn't wait to read his story! In this book, Mathias said and did some wrong things, but he was a good, decent person who had been through a lot and was in a high profile job in a well-known band, which made Mathias be in the spotlight a lot! I could see that Mathias hated being in the spotlight, and I think this had an effect on his attitude! I loved him though, and he really redeemed himself in this book! I was expecting this book to be written from both Remy and Mathias' point of views, but it was actually only written from Remy's! I was surprised at this, but I was still able to connect with Mathias perfectly as well! It would have been interesting to get inside his head though! In Your Heart (Willow Creek, #3) & Take A Chance (Willow Creek, #4) I have not started reading these two yet but I love Micalea Smeltzer's books, I know these will be 5 Stars as usual! I have the box set, signed. I just need to find the time to finish and will update my review when I do. ... show more

  • Willow Creek Boxed Set
I swore to myself as well as my husband that I wasn’t going to purchase any more books since I subscribed to Kindle Unlimited and there are so many books on there to read. Well I lied to myself because I read the book about Mascen on KU, Maddox and Emma’s son in college, and couldn’t wait to find out about his family. I loved all of the books, but really fell in love with Mathias and Remy as well as their son Liam. Mathias was easy for me to love. Anyone who has been abused or knows an abused child will recognize the fact that he is angry with the world with good reason. Who can understand why an adult would treat a child with anger and hostility after giving life to them. But it happens daily to so many children and so many of us stick our heads in the sand instead of trying to help the children. Thankfully Ezra’s parents took both of them on even though they couldn’t afford too additional children. They looked out for the boys and loved them as their own. Thank you for writing these books and shining a light on child abuse and learning disabilities. ... show more

  • Buy this book even if you have all four books by themselves...the bonus materials are AMAZING!!! <3
5 out of 5 Stars!!! I read this series over the last 18 months or so and have loved these characters. The bonus scenes in this book made me realize how much more I’m going to miss them now that their series is complete, but it also helped shed some light on things that come about in the books as well as the spin off series with the kids of the band members. I love all of the guys, but after reading all four books and the bonus materials, Maddox still holds an extra special place in my heart. I think it’s his kid-like attitude that I admire so much (since my whole life is about as opposite as that as it can get!) In the bonus materials, I read things that made me swoon and made me amazed. He is just the ultimate drummer boyfriend! Without giving anything away that you don’t know from reading the books, this is my favorite quote from the bonus materials. This is Mathias talking to Remy before their baby boy is born: “Just admit it, Rem, the baby’s first word will not be mom or dad. It’s going to be ****, because I f***ing love saying the word ****.” I am missing these guys and gals all over again and hope that someday soon I’ll have time to do a full re-read because they are great people!! (Below is a brief synopsis of my reviews for each book individually) Last To Know 4 out of 5 stars When they meet, Maddox doesn’t tell Emma who he is and their relationship is full of adventures and life and really brings Emma out of her normal and into the world in a big way. She is so inexperienced that every time they do something, it’s her first time...even eating in certain restaurants and enjoying certain music. When I finished the book, I had tears rolling down my face. Happy tears from the story line and having been able to enjoy Maddox and Emma’s relationship. Sad tears knowing the story was over and I wouldn’t get to spend my evenings with them anymore. Maddox and Emma are some of my favorite fictional characters and I hope that many, many more people will have the chance to enjoy them as well. Never Too Late 4 out of 5 stars This novel was much more sexy than the first. The characters in this novel constantly had me wanting the best for everyone. The emotions were so far and wide that I found myself feeling something with every page. Mathias is just plain swoon-worthy! I can’t help but get goosebumps when I read this quote: “It’s a rare kind of love, and one that should be celebrated and embraced, so that’s what I did, because trying to pretend it didn’t exist was f***ing impossible.” I am really enjoying Ms. Smeltzer’s writing style and can’t wait to see what happens with the band next! In Your Heart 4 ½ out of 5 stars I love all of the Willow Creek guys, but Ezra really got to me. His heart was so big and so open that I just couldn’t help but fall in love with him, too. I think these guys might have some of the best book boyfriend quotes I’ve read. At 9%, Ezra had me swooning with this simple quote when he was trying to comfort Sadie: “tears aren’t a sign of weakness, but of strength of the heart. They show you care and caring is never a bad thing.” However, at the same time, I loved this book because we really got to hang out and spend time with our other favorite Willow Creek couples. Knowing that Maddox and Emma were getting married was so much fun and to watch Sadie and Emma’s relationship get renewed was also good for the story. Knowing how protective Mathias is of Remy and his baby was comical and still exactly what I would have expected. I can’t wait to read Hayes’ story and find out just how great he can be, too. Take A Chance 4 out of 5 stars I am so sad that this series is what seems like over now. I have loved every one of the Willow Creek boys and Hayes was no exception. I did not always like Arden as much as some of the other Willow Creek girls, but she did finally grow on me and I found myself only wanting the very best for the couple. I loved that Hayes was funny, cocky, protective and just such a swell guy. He was an amazing guy with Mia (Arden's daughter), but when he was being his usual goofy self, that's when I really loved him the most: I smiled. "So...are you going to feed me on this date or let me starve?" "Baby, I'm a feast for your eyes, isn't that enough?" He jested. But then again, he could put the swoon on and totally have me melting before him: "...you're all I want and what I feel for you is never going to go away. And maybe it's too soon to say I love you, but I know I do. I love you. I love you so damn much that it scares me more than anything else ever has." ... show more
