Loved these movies growing up. The first four are the best to be sure. 5 and 6 suffer from the loss of Mahoney, but still have their charms. Honestly, this set was my first experience with the seventh film (Mission to Moscow) and the less said about that one, the better... But it's still a solid boxed set of six great films! I never owned these movies on DVD because I was frustrated at inconsistency in the aspect ratios. Some were only available in 4:3 while others were properly formated for widescreen presentation. So this Blu-ray release was excellent for finally being able to get the films in a consistant visual presentation. As for video and audio quality overall, these films are never going to be the ones you use to showcase the quality of your home theater setup. But for what they are, their presentation in this set is likely the best you will get. ... show more

I had a more basic collection of the police Academy films, before I heard about this one. I’m always interested in anything from shout factory because they always do an amazing job, restoring and presenting their movies. This is no exception as it collects all of the police academy movies together in one set. If you are a fan of the films, this is the best one to get. ... show more

Finally the Police Academy movies are on American released Blu-Ray! These are classic movies from my childhood. They don't make any good comedy anymore. Have to rely on these classics that you can watch over and over again. They never get old!

Don't dismiss this set yet. We are still waiting on SHOUT to release the specs for these discs. If we get new transfers and bonus features, it could be well worth the price point for fans of the series. I imported the UK set some time ago, but I would be willing to double-dip if the series is given the proper treatment. UPDATE - Looks like this set will be worth a double dip for fans of the series.     • The comedy of 80’s police academy collection
These are funniest movies made from 80’s and they fun n funny and there was uk import set but shout factory bring us first time on Blu-ray the police academy as collection of all five movies .Steve Gutenberg n Michael Winslow n David Graf n Bubba smith n Gw Bailey n George Gaynes and Marion Ramsey this would go on become iconic cult classics spin off into cartoon series . Why three stars mission to Moscow n city under siege were not the best out of the series they were decent at best most of orginal stars were missing in these last two films . This a good collection comes with a disc for special features. If you love movies n eighties this pure nostalgia when year was cool n movies were great and this was one that we can put in our collection of great eighties movies. ... show more
