Delicious coffee at a reasonable price. I've always loved Sumatra as a medium coffee with a somewhat unique but not overpowering taste. It's one of my favorite coffees (with Kona being another, to give you an idea of what I like). When i used to drink decaf, it was the only decaf I would drink. Now that I'm told caffeinated coffee actually staves off diabetes I enjoy having the real stuff. My first job was working at a Barnie's Coffee and Tea (this was basically a Starbucks before there was such a thing) and therefore I've had my share of great coffee and was trained in the difference between the good stuff and the swill. I saw this brand versus the Starbucks brand and just had to give it a chance because Starbucks' price was just so outrageous. I'm glad I did. I can't believe it's organic too. I do often worry about the amount of chemicals they process coffee with. This brand tastes great, is medium bodied and medium flavored and I love the price! I've bought some for my coffee loving aunt, I'm on my second bag myself and I honestly enjoy it just as much as all my high priced brands. The only one I enjoy a slight bit better at the moment is my Gevalia espresso but I don't want cappuccinos for every drink, I need my Bulletproof coffees too. So if you enjoy Bulletproof coffee this works well for that, if you drink it any other way I feel confident you won't be disappointed. My compliments to this seller. We have just begun to use this coffee and are impressed by its full-bodied flavor without any acidic component. After some fairly extensive sampling, we seem to prefer this one over most of the darker roasts. We expect to reorder with the hope that our first impressions remain reliable.

I overall like the coffee, but we predominantly drink medium roast and I was really looking forward to this coffee arriving. Unfortunately, it is not anywhere near medium roast. It is remarkably like most dark roasts we have, maybe one shade less dark, and very much has the flavor of dark roast. I bought 3 two pound bags. They were in clear wrapper (light is not good for keeping coffee fresh). I wouldn't buy again, but I'd like to hear from the company why this is considered medium roast. ... show more

The earthy aroma greeted me the moment I scissored open this bag of perfectly roasted Organic Sumatra Mandheling Coffee Beans! Two pounds of heaven. I couldn't wait to brew my first pour-over cup. Delicious. I thought about it for weeks before finally taking the plunge, but in the end, I decided that life is too short to drink one more cuppa crappy coffee! I have tried about a dozen coffee beans to arrive at this one. It is the absolute best, non organic included. It is a very nice, not too dark roast. Lovely as an Espresso or Latte/Cappuccino. Ordered medium light roast... No marking of roast level on bag. Looked like dark roast, Smells like dark roast. Tastes like dark roast. Seems to be old beans. None of the usual fresh coffee smell when grinding the beans.. Will not buy again.
