    • My wife loves this
Platform For Display: The Oregon Trail PS5
Bought this as a birthday present for my wife and she hasn’t stopped playing it. She says it reminds her of her childhood when she would play the computer game and that this is a really good remake.

    • The perfect nostalgia trip—modernized in all the right ways!
Platform For Display: The Oregon Trail PS5
I grew up playing the original Oregon Trail in the computer lab at school, so I was really hoping this PS5 version would live up to those memories. It honestly blew me away. It hits every single nostalgia button (yes, you can still die of dysentery), but they added so much awesomeness that totally makes sense for a modern game. The graphics are exactly what I wanted—it's not trying to be some super high-end realistic AAA game, which would have ruined the vibe. Instead, it’s this beautiful mix of pixel art and 3D backgrounds that feels like a perfect, high-def tribute to the original. It looks crisp and colorful on the PS5 without losing that retro charm. The new mechanics (like fishing, better inventory management, and the new classes) add actual depth without making it overly complicated. It’s the game you remember, just bigger, better, and polished to perfection. If you loved this as a kid, you need this in your library. ... show more

    • A Nostalgic Adventure with Room for Improvement
Platform For Display: The Oregon Trail PS5
If you’re a fan of the classic Oregon Trail, the PS5 version offers an updated take on the beloved game, combining nostalgia with a few modern twists. While the game captures the spirit of the original with its resource management, tough decisions, and unpredictable challenges, the graphics leave a bit to be desired, especially for a PS5 title. The gameplay is still engaging and fun, guiding a group of pioneers along the Oregon Trail, making critical choices, and dealing with everything from sickness to bad weather. It’s easy to get sucked into the journey, as your decisions truly impact the outcome. The new features, such as character customization and deeper narrative elements, add a nice touch, making the experience feel more personal. However, despite the engaging mechanics and nostalgic vibe, the graphics don't quite live up to the standards you'd expect from a PS5 game. The visuals are basic and don't showcase the power of the console as well as some other titles do. That said, it doesn't detract too much from the overall enjoyment of the game, especially if you're more focused on the gameplay and story. If you’re looking for a fun, challenging game that offers a dose of nostalgia, the PS5 Oregon Trail is worth checking out. Just don’t expect mind-blowing visuals—it's the gameplay and experience that really shine here! ... show more

Platform For Display: The Oregon Trail PS5
Expensive for what it is. This was a nostalgia buy. No doubt about it. Game play is a little confusing and not very well explained. Wont be a repeat play game

It has a great tutorial in the beginning which let's you get a little practice in before embarking on your adventure. ... show more
