I really like the concept of this keyboard and got sold on the idea of a "better way" to learn the piano. However, the execution is flawed. The summary for my review is: the hardware design is fantastic, the sound is good, the software of the companion app is very limiting and the "easy piano" concept is not achieved because of that. More detail follows. HARDWARE & SOUND: Just look at it, it is a beautifully designed piece of hardware. Do know that it does not come with the stand from the picture and that if you end up pairing it with one of those with the shape of an "X" it will not look nearly as nice. The keys are nicely weighted and the touch does resemble that of a real piano. I did notice, however; that unlike a real piano, the weighting of the keys does not change from one side of the keyboard to the other (although this is just a minor detail). I also LOVE that they have headphone jacks at the front of the piano. It makes it much easier to practice without annoying my neighbors. It produces a nice imitation of the sound of piano. The rest of the instruments are not as good, but at least it is good to know that they got the basics right. In addition, the beautiful minimalist design means that this keyboard does not have a screen and thus changing instruments is much more complicated than it should be. Now, what really annoys me about this setup is that I have an iPad connected to this piano. Was it too much effort to allow me to change the instruments in there? I believe this to be such an obvious design idea that I just blindly assumed it would be implemented and was thoroughly disappointed when I downloaded the app. And I have much more complaints about the app... as can be seen in the next section SOFTWARE: Now, if you really want to use the special "colored lights" in this thing then you have to use their app. I really suggest you download it and have a look before you invest in this keyboard. There is sheet music for plenty of songs but you have to pay for all the good ones (4 dollars a piece I think). More so, this library will probably not contain all the songs you want to play and, even worse, you have to pay for the arrangement without being able to at least hear how it sounds which will inevitably lead to a few disappointments followed by the download of a different app. I personally used it for one song.... and then moved out of the app and into much more complete piano learning apps like Yousician. Do know, however that the lights do work with the Synthesia app which I suggest you look up if you are interested in alternative methods to learn how to play the piano. CONCEPT: I do believe that the concept is useful, specially for absolute beginners. It is much easier to learn how to play a song when you don't have to struggle learning how to read sheet music. I also believe that it will allow beginner and intermediate players to memorize and play relatively complex songs at a much faster pace. I am, however; not so sure that this is the correct approach for people that are serious about piano playing. Reading sheet music is a pain... but it is necessary if you ever want to be able to play "on the first try" or if you want to have a repertoire of songs that is larger than the space in your memory... I wish the software was better or, at least, that there was a better integration with other piano-learning and sheet-music apps so that we could use their music libraries. Without it, you'll just end up paying extra for a feature that you'd never get to use because your favorite apps don't support it. ... show more

I will update after more use. I have had this 88 key smart keyboard for 2 days. I bought this knowing that the free songs were limited in the free app. I also bought this not knowing if it would work with the popular synthesia app because noone ever answered when I posted the question. Yes, It DOES work with synthesia. Now, I can download any MIDI file on my PC and it will light the keys to teach me to play it. I haven't even tried the free app because I personally don't have a tablet. But, I have small studio I built with a PC and a 50" monitor, which is what I wanted to use. The keyboard on my screen is nearly the size of my keyboard :) The quality of the device is great. Feels heavy and durable. The sound is nice, but not as good as many of the bigger names. However, since I am running through my PC, I can use any sound I have. Unit is a bit pricey for what you get, but, I really wanted the lighting system. Will update after a couple months of use. ... show more

I ordered this keyboard for my son’s bday. Our house decor is white so we ordered the white one. I also ordered a white piano bench to go with it. I had not found a stand before the bench and keyboard arrived. I was so disappointed to open the package and find that it was more yellow than white. (Almost how white plastic yellows over time.) I tried contacting the manufacturer, but they don’t have a phone number. They have an email service that didn’t really answer. ThT being said, this is an expensive piece of electronic equipment and I see problems down the road if you ever need help. The design is clean, but there is no way to choose different sounds without scrolling through the one button it has and “guessing” since there is no led screen to tell you if you choose a synth or organ or what. The keys don’t light up, but there are led lights above them if you want to use the function to follow along with a song. Also, you better own a smart phone or iPad or something otherwise this is like buying a very heavy children’s toy. Will be returning this as soon as possible. It took me a while to pull the trigger on the One Music because there was no review here and because the 61 key got such mixed reviews. Well, IMO it's pretty good. The sounds is beautiful. It's nice to have weighted keys. I like the simplicity. I didn't like all the crazy button options on the casio - I just wanted piano. There are a lot of free songs to start with to keep me busy. The are lessons and video type games. All nice. I would like to preview songs before buying them (as keyboard interpretations of pop songs vary wildly) and I'd like option to slow down speed of video games. SO there are little things I'd like improved, but over all it's just what I wanted. ... show more

Keyboard arrived in perfect condition. I downloaded "TheOne" app from the Google Play Store on my five year old Samsung Tab 6A, turned on the Piano, plugged in the phone with the supplied cable and Bingo, got the green connection light. I was actually playing Beethoven Ode to Joy in about 10 minutes. The weighted keys felt great & Piano sounds great. The 6" screen on my Samsung may be a bit small but it works fine (I'll probably buy something bigger). I'm very happy with this piano learning system.... Thank You One Smart !! ... show more
