  • Bought used - some markings on the pages, but a great cookbook at a good price Bought used - some markings on the pages, but a great cookbook at a good price
Format: Hardcover
I bought a used copy with the description that the pages were unmarked and clean. As the sample page show, there are markings on a few pages, BUT I don't mind. The cookbook, otherwise, is pristine at a good price. I'm overall satisfied with the packaging, delivery, and quality of the book, and I considered taking off one star due to the untrue description that the pages are unmarked, but it's a minor issue and not worth taking a whole star off. The book, itself, is excellent! Food, especially good food, is the universal language, and this cookbook not only contains in-depth recipes to try different dishes from other countries, but it also contains bios of the contributors of the recipes. It's very empowering to read about these magnificent women. ... show more

  • The expertise of the best cooking schools with the warmth of my grandmother's kitchen
Format: Hardcover
This cookbook is gorgeous, that's really clear from just skimming through it, but reading the stories of the women home cooks from all over the world gives me a level of inspiration and hope that is finally getting me back in the kitchen. These are family meals that are surprisingly easy to cook but taste and look exceptional. The helpful tips at the beginning of each recipe make me feel like I'm talking to women in the book -- or more like they are gently guiding me, in the way my own grandmother did. ... show more
