  • Thumbs up
My aesthetician loved it. She was impressed with how much info it had. Good buy, good gift

  • adds some updated ingredient information to the industry standards
LE here. Upon first glace I wasn't sure this book would be something to keep when I saw it excluded alpha arbutin which is a pretty widely used and known ingredient in 2021. I looked further to see how many other common ingredients were missing, but found that it includes several ingredients Milady's dictionary is lacking. It has black current bud floral wax, black currant leaf extract and black current seed oil - Milady only mentions the extract and seed oil. Beauty Geek's Guide also includes ingredients that are becoming more common in wholistic skincare like astragalus. I appreciate the different approach this dictionary takes to it's descriptions and content. Useful reference! ... show more

  • easy and simple read
loved that the first 3 parts weren’t too long. it was basic. and then the rest are definitions of each ingredient. the last part wasn’t what i was expecting but worth a shot of trying. i don’t think i’ll make product until i understand the biochemistry behind ingredients

  • A little biased
This book is nice for people who are curious about ingredients. I find it to be a bit biased in some descriptions(especially chemical or synthetic ingredients)due to the fact that the author has a line of skincare that is "natural" or "clean" so just keep that in mind when reading!!

I’m in LOVE with this book!!! It’s easy for everyone to understand, and very informative. It’s like a dictionary of ingredients for skincare, because they’re listed in alphabetical order.
