Features

  • MADE FOR AXE THROWING! Please note, you cannot simply use any splitting or chopping axe for axe throwing. This axe has been specially designed & manufactured for axe throwing with its extremely thin blade profile and straight handle designed for an easier release when throwing.
  • 16" Straight Handle: Our handles are built long by design. This gives them the ability to be cut down and adjusted based on throwing style, height, distance and weight. Cut in "1/4 increments and test thoroughly between cuts.
  • Curved Blade Design: This axe is intended for intermediate to advanced throwers. Always check floors and targets. Ensure targets (mostly bullseyes and killshots) are free of knots that could damage or chip the axe blade. Ensure floors have strong enough padding, plywood or OSB. This axe is sharp enough to break through damaged flooring and damage itself on concrete underneath.
  • Average Axe Head Weight: 1.65lbs

  • It’s great!!
This axe has a great throwing weight, even though it clearly has more weight than most throwers. The weight, to me, makes it throw better and hammer into target wood better than lighter throwers. WATL axes arrive sharp and ready to go so don’t worry about that. I also like the price point; it might not be the most newest sweetest coolest thing since burnt toast; it’s a great deal for a great thrower. ... show more

  • This is hands down the best throwing axe on the market
I got into throwing axes for sport about a year back. It wasn't long before I began to try out some different types of axes. In my collection, I have five WATL axes. None of them come close to being as accurate, balanced, sharp, and built anywhere near as well as The Bad Axe. If you are looking into some of the higher-end axes for your throwing, I can assure you this axe will not disappoint you. Its simply a beast. ... show more

  • handle
I like how it throws. After about 6 one hour sessions, the handle got loose. I had to add some wedges.

  • Nice, throwing ax
I’m new to ask throwing, but this axe just feels nice and balanced when I throw it

  • Another WATL axe bites the dust!!
I knew I was taking a gamble on this thing being defective but I took a chance and it was indeed defective. I threw it about 10 times at home, all good. Took it to the league that evening, threw it about 5 times and the handle was lose at the head. It had at least a quarter inch "back and fourth" play in it which is unacceptable for ANY thrower, but when it's sold and produced by the premier axe throwing league in the world it is especially frustrating and egregious! WATL brags that their products are the best on the market for throwing. I suppose if you have the patience to find a "good one" by going through several of them, but for over $100 that really shouldn't be necessary. My $38 Coldsteel Competition Thrower is a MUCH better option. Hundreds of throws later, it's still going strong. In all fairness to WATL, not every single unit they produce is defective. I do know several guys who own a few of these things and they work well, but the quality control is very inconsistent. You basically have to go through 2 or 3 until you find a "good one" and I'm just not up for that kind of safari for a throwing axe ... show more

  • Decent axe but needed work
It's a nice axe but i had to put alot of work into redoing the blade profile and sharpen it. If you're trying to decide on which axe to buy the corporal is an awesome axe.. and the ace of spades is also a great choice
