I knew what I was buying before I bought it. Yes, this stuff's expensive. Yes, you could use a specific type of wire (not saying specifics, don't want a business to lose a sale when someone reads this and says "oh, I should buy that instead") but honestly I just wanted it *now* rather than wait for a hardware company to send me a spool of wire. My local store was out of this and it's cheaper there, but I digress. This stuff's well worth the money if you want to add barbed wire effects to your miniatures/board/diorama/whatever. It arrived quickly, and it's easy to use. I have no idea why I'm writing this, quite frankly, anyone reading this review probably already knows what this is, what it's for, and how to use it. Just buy it and stop reading reviews. Anyone who doesn't already know about it, this product is a stand in for barbed wire for use on miniature bases. It comes in a coil, all you do is unroll some, wrap it around a pencil, pen or other cylindrical object, uncoil it a bit, and remove it from the pencil. Glue it, prime it and paint it, or glue it and leave as is, it's up to you. I don't know who actually needs to read this review, but you don't, if you're looking for this product, get it, it works great. If you're not considering buying this product, well, I have no idea why you're here. This is quite a specific product and I cannot fathom what you looked up to end up here.
