An interesting exercise in the imagination. Cat behavior was so true to their nature. Poor editing or translation but not bothersome; just filled in the blanks.

This was a book for all you cat lovers. Little Jack was a good mystery detective and Moo Moo helped,too. I liked the way the book was written in and about cats on their level. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.

For some who has spent most of his life in the UK he tends to write choppy and repeat himself. The cat isn't terrible believable and I couldn't get into the story.

I was fortunate to be able to read Jack the Cat and the Food Thief through Reedsy. The Adventures of Jack the Cat is memorable amongst many great reads this year. It tells the story of Jack, a cat who protects the rights of the homeless cats on his street. When food is stolen and, later, spoilt, Jack begins to investigate what is going on, getting to know others along the way. There’s Gina, the healer who sacrifices to give to others, Azrael the conspiracy theorist, MooMoo, the seemingly spoilt once street car with a wealth of intelligence, and Nina, the wise old leader. . Thumbs and the fox are villains in the tale, but while Thumbs is driven by ambition, the fox is lost, blood thirsty and trapped in streets he does not enjoy. Buddy and Churchill as well as the Shadows also play a role in the story. This is a story which can resonate in many levels, with readers taking out a range of different insights based on their life experiences and the insights of the times. Amongst other tales, it is a story of community, determination and power. It’s a story which takes readers beyond stereotypes, explores cruelties and shows how political battles for power often involve divisions, conspiracy theories and trapping marginalised or wounded individuals to carry out dreadful tasks with a promise of a better life. This is also a simple story of good people coming together to fight ‘bad’ and the role of compassion in understanding how to cope with chaos, disability age and other marginalisations. This is a story I would recommend for people of all ages. Children would enjoy watching Jack, the cat detective unravel a mystery while older people would take out the satirical or metaphorical elements of the tale. Ultimately, Jack the Cat is a hero on multiple levels and worth multiple reads. The ending leaves me hopeful that there will be another story. It also shows us that no matter how many problems we might resolve, there will never be a utopia. There ks always another problem to solve. ... show more

Narration was choppy, hard to follow. Usual problem with misprints/misspellings. The idea was good, just could have been expressed more clearly.
