This particular toner smells great and works very well - if I feel like I’m getting a blemish, I can just use a cotton ball to swab this toner on my face a bit and it does a great job at either reducing or even preventing that pimple from progressing. I definitely use this just about every day and it doesn’t dry my skin out, which is lovely because I do have somewhat sensitive skin. I have used this toner for many years, and love it! Prior, I was using a similar toner that was $60 which was too expensive for my budget, so I decided to try this one. I use 4x4 gauze wipes with it, and it is very gentle on my skin and cleanses well including all of my eye makeup. It doesn't sting my eyes at all and feels as gentle as water. At first I wasn't a fan of the rose scent, but it is very light and disappears quickly. Now I hardly notice it. I've been a fan of Thayer's witch hazel toners for most of my life! I love the quality, I love the scents, and i've been using it on my skin so long the smell is nostalgic for me. It's been at least 15 years since I started using this toner mostly daily, and the skin on my face is quite healthy. I'd like to attribute that in part to a consistent care regimen that always utilizes this product. You can also use it anywhere else on your body that's inflamed or irritated (don't use it on injuries though!!) to soothe. It feels great on chafing spots. You might also use witch hazel in cleaning (from yoga mats to feathers, witch hazel is very useful outside of cosmetics)! The price has really gone up over the years so when I see it on sale I BUY. If you're struggling with dryness, itchiness, inflammation, acne, etc. and are looking for a QUALITY product with a luxurious cooling astringent capability? You can't go wrong with Thayer's witch hazel. Try the lavender or lemon (that one's best). ... show more

Soothing and gentle. Alcohol-free so not harsh or drying. The rose fragrance does not assault your senses like some rose-fragranced products do and does not linger long enough to annoy. The fragrance is more like a fresh rose. Also doesn't have the witch hazel smell that some find off putting.
