My lawn is only 9 months old and I cannot believe how much dead grass I have in this new lawn. The rake is made out of steel pretty strong shaft and I like how you can take it apart for storage. My unit comes with a few missing washers but I have a few in my house so not a big deal. Since the fins of the rake is pretty thin, just becare when putting it on the ground specially the end fins on both side which get bended easily. Also, keep it dry from rust because they are made out of steel.

Works great. Was missing a few washers but I had some in my garage that worked. It gets up a ton of grass and the price it good. It is very sturdy and was easy to assemble. If you can’t afford a machine to do it some elbow grease does the trick! It’s actually fun to get rid of the dead grass, and yes I’m a weirdo!

While there is a little leeway in the tolerances, it seems to be sturdy enough to be useful. The rake part bolts on securely and is sharp (the tips, not the edges). Haven't tried it out yet, but I will amend my review if something changes. Having said all that, the hardware that comes with the rake was a little bizarre. They included an extra bolt of each type, an extra nut of each type, etc., except for the washers... there were 3 missing washers! I would've preferred just the exact number of each needed component, nothing less, nothing more. 😖😖😖

A family member assembled this thatch rake and tried it out as a superfical tilling tool. We don't have grass because it is not a wise use of water in our low desert area. But we do grow tree crops and this rake is very useful for removing certain unwanted plants that grow under the trees without disturbing the superfical roots of the trees. It really helps to loosen up just enough of the soil to make getting the weeds out easier, especially once the ground statrs to dry out in warm weather. By pushing back the other way it acts as a ground smoother. The working section of the rake can be adjusted by hand to a range of angles by two flange nuts on either side. The instructions to put this item together were reported to be a little lacking. The package of washers, nuts, etc. had too many of some parts and was short about three of another. But these were common items easily replaced by our own extra stash at home.

Was a little annoying that there were washers missing. Would have been nice to have a detailed list of what parts were Included/needed for the rake so I didn't spend time trying to figure out if I was crazy. I did appreciate that they Included the tools for installation. Overall it did a good job thatching and pulled them out all in one straight line.

I am using this for a very persistent patch of creeping charlie that was starting to spread. It worked well. It didn’t take out everything but it definitely got the majority of it. It’s much better than me getting down on my knees and pulling them out by hand. I’ve even had this rake out in the rain for a while by accident and it has not rusted at all, so I think the material is great quality.

This is a good rake. The only problem is that you have to assemble yourself, which is not very convenient.

I use for de-thatching of course but also after rototiller to pull out small stones and roots from soil. This comes in a small package, surprising but assembles easily to a great quality rake. You can make the handle of various lengths as it is in sections. The sections have threads and screw together coming out stronger and sturdier than I expected. Get one!
