What can I say? This calculator is the key to do well in school. I've added notes to this calculator for references during exams. This is not cheating but more like using your resources to your full potential. I even downloaded pac-man and other fun games on here. Once the señoritas see you playing games on a calculator, they'll definitely give you their ten digit number. I've had as many as 20 give me theirs in a single day! I got this for my child who is in high school. It's a little pricey but it is a very good and useful calculator. This is the latest generation of the Ti-84, which has been popular for years for students. My child loves the color and this model is slimmer and lighter than the previous generation. I had some issues with some older models of this calculator not being able to connect to my PC for updates and software downloads, but haven't tried with this unit yet. I'll update if I have issues with this unit.

The TI-84 Plus CE works flawlessly, but that's all expected from Texas Instruments. TI also provides on-line PDF Users Guides (very helpful) that can be downloaded. But more importantly there's personal one-on-one math assistance through telephone help line. My daughter had a question on her first linear regression homework (high school) using her TI-84. She didn't clearly understand her teacher's instructions (a lot of buttons and settings to punch). So, she called TI and the assistant walked my daughter through the TI-84's necessary settings. Then the assistant discussed/worked with her to ensure she understood the assignment using the TI-84. Wow, what service!! We've been TI customers since grade school, through middle school, and now high school. Highly recommend TI products. P.S. Get the CE version because the color graphing is so clear and the rechargeable battery and meter is very convenient.

So much better than the ti-83 I used before this. It's much more user friendly, has a much nicer screen with better resolution and it can actually do way more than I initially realized. I used to always use desmos and I thought such expensive calculators were stupid considering the availability if free apps, but this can do WAY more than any app I've ever tried. It will display answers in any format you want (decimal, fraction, or mixed number) and convert between them, graph polar and parametric equations very easily, do matrix calculations, do complex number calculations, and a host of other things I haven't tried. I took off 1 star because equations must be in the form "y=" so you can't easily graph something like "x²+y²=1" for example. You also can't display 2 equations in different coordinates simultaneously, which you can do with the FREE Desmos app. It will also take a little while to graph complicated equations, compared to free graphing apps and websites. There's also a bit of a learning curve to it. Its not at all obvious how to do anything more than arithmetic and maybe basic graphing with it. It's not that hard to learn though. Definitely better than the 83. It comes with a straightforward manual that explains the most common uses and a quick Google search should tell you how to get it to do whatever you need. Play around with it for a while, using Google as needed and you'll figure it out relatively quickly.

I got the pink one with a color screen because it looked fun. It turns out, you don't really need the color screen at all and the outside does not need to be pink. I would not suggest spending the extra money on those two features. The color screen is only useful if you are looking at graphs but if you have some understanding of the basic/parent functions, you can differentiate between all the lines on your screen. without it needing to be a different color. I purchased a case for it but I never use it. I just use the sliding plate that it came with and never had an issue. The downside is that the product is bulky and even though I use it almost daily, it still feels like a burden. The bright color shell draws attention to you so if you are an introvert, stick to the traditional black shade. The charge holds well but if you are enrolled in a spring or fall course, you will need to charge it almost weekly.

Love this calculator. It's extremely easy to use. I have charged it once since getting it 3 months ago, use it a few times a week and it still has battery life. The only thing I don't like about it is that the screen goes to sleep fairly quickly. I haven't tried to see if I can adjust that, but sometimes that is annoying when I'm in class or doing homework. Other than that, I definitely recommend this calculator.
