The color is lighter than expected and the material is sturdy plastic. When purchasing, I thought it would be made of a good soft quality material, but I was a little bit disappointed when I opened the packaging. Never having a graphing calculator before, I was surprised it wouldn't go on. It took approximately 4 hours for battery to be completely charged. I have been using it for two weeks straight, and at this rate, it does look it could last easily 6 months without having to recharge it. The functions are just fantastic; they have made my life so much easier. I received an email from the seller after the purchase asking to review only if it was 4 or 5 stars because three or less would hurt their company. Should I rate them any less than 4 stars, they offered their customer service number to fix it. I thought this was very unprofessional from their part. I received a great product, but if you are a good company, you shouldn't beg for good reviews.. they'll come to you. Back to the TI84... this is the best calculator I've ever had. Plus, the difference in color makes it cute and easy to identify in classes with so many students. You won't regret your purchase! ... show more

I bought this calculator for a College Algebra course and the professor actually didn’t allow his students to use a calculator in his class. The calculator was so nice that I kept it anyway. I bought it used, but it looked new. It took a little longer than I would have liked for it to come in, but that’s not a huge issue to me. No names or scratches on it and all of the buttons worked great. It also came with a charger and it was less than $100. My favorite feature is the backlight. It lights up like a cell phone. I am so glad that I was able to find a Texas instrument that was pink that was not an arm and a leg. My daughter has used this since the beginning of the school year I'm not sure how much longer it will last because we'll just started and it is only November but it has held up this long and has not posed any problems she enjoys it and it's working for her and I'm just glad I didn't have to spend a lot of money for a brand new one. ... show more

I was worried about buying a used calculator. But this one is awesome!!! It works great and the screen is bright and colorful. It came with a charger and the slip cover. Really impressed and grateful I can do my stats class with such a great calculator

Updated: I was discussing my options for an out of warranty (25 months) replacement for a TI-84 plus c silver. I must say that for a $140 calculator, I would have expected it to last longer. TI used to make great hardware. (Original review) Purchased for middle-school math. The battery life has been good (per my daughter), and the color screen is invaluable to distinguish between graph lines that are close together. Display is clear and detailed; colors are an added bonus. Bought for teenager to use in advanced math classes and she loves the functionality of it and how easy it is to use, as well as the fact that it came with a protective case and in a color option that fit her personality.
