  • Great, INTUITIVE Calculator For All Of Your Graphing Needs
Color: Black Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I recently enrolled in a math course that required a graphing calculator. The professor didn't require any certain one, but did recommend the TI-84 as a solid option. I recall using a TI-83 back in high school over a decade ago, so I felt confident in sticking with the brand. I chose the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, and couldn't be happier with my purchase. Much less bulky than the graphing calculators I've used in the past, the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition has a sleek design and rests easily in your hand. The color screen adds so much to the graphs and makes them so much easier to interpret. The keys and functions are much more intuitive than any calculator I've used in the past. It doesn't take a significant amount of time to charge, and it holds that charge for quite awhile (I'm two months into the semester and have not had to recharge it, yet!). All in all, it's a sound investment, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. ... show more

  • Super functional calculator.
Color: Black Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
If you're a high school student in need of a graphing calculator, splurge a bit and go for the TI-84 Plus C SE. The higher resolution makes it a lot nicer to look at when using graphs, plots, or even just basic calculation. Color is great when you're inputting more than one formula. Most of the time, the teachers will demonstrate on MathPrint-enabled calculators, so this unit will probably be the most future-proof. If you've already got a TI-84 Plus SE, I don't think it's worth the money to upgrade. But, if you've got a TI-84 Plus or older, go for the upgrade! In my experience, the battery life has been very good. After a complete charge, I just unplug and forget until my next major exam (The TI-84 +C SE is allowed on SAT). It's not like a cell phone, more like a Kindle--it lasts for a month or more. One of the main complaints is that the calculator is slow to graph. To fix this, just disable "Detect Asymptotes." I believe it's in the FORMAT menu. ... show more

  • Best Calculator I've Owned Yet
Color: Black Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Great calculator, I've used mine for a year now, in Algebra II, moving on to Pre Calc. If for any reason mine should break, I'll definitely get another to replace it. Pros: -The functionalitis are endless, and with the right programs, you can do just about anything wit this calculator. -The extra pixel display on the screen makes it super easy to read as opposed to the regular ti-83's and 84's, no more decoding ultra pixel font. -I just feel cooler with a color screen. -No need to worry about batteries, just don't lose the usb cable. Downsides: -There's a bit of a lag when some graphs load, it takes longer than some of the simpler graphing calculators. -Do NOT let the calculator reach 0 battery life, or the ram will be erased, warning -There are less pre-existing apps and special programs for this calculator, if you want to sit around and play pokemon instead of doing actual math, don't get this calculator. Overall, super great, and it doesn't even cost much more than the ti-84's, spend the extra $20 and get the better calculator, it's totally worth it. ... show more

  • Love this calculator!
The shipping was amazing and I got it right before a test I really needed the calculator for. All of the things that were described in the description were included and the calculator functions well. I would definitely buy and recommend purchasing calculators from Syracuse Calculators because they give you awesome deals for calculators that you need. In terms of how the product works, I have to say that I prefer the good old TI-84 silver edition than this more updated version. The color screen on the calculator is great, and typing in exponents are pretty great on this calculator as well, which is mostly what many of the classes I have to take seem to venture towards eventually, but the speed of the calculator when you type in the simplest thing to solve, 1+1, it seems to lag and slow down a bit before you can actually get the answer. I know that this isn't a big deal and you could just be patient for a couple of seconds until the answer pops up, but when you are taking a timed test......ugh, it gets annoying. >:( That said, don't think that it takes like five minutes before you get an answer, lol; it only takes like a couple of seconds vs. the older models which give you an answer ASAP. Another thing I do like very much about this calculator is that you can just charge it. I don't have to do out and buy some batteries every time they need some.... Anyways, Thank you Syracuse Calculators for your great service! ... show more

  • Awesome instrument
Color: Black Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I previously owned the TI83 (got so old could hardly see the screen... time for upgrade). Fortunately the latest (actually it was originally released in 2004) upheld the previous versions regarding functionality. The LCD readout though is a BIG step up from all previous models (one can actually SEE it). The only thing I really don't care for is the shape of some of the buttons (but that is really nit-picking). I use this for quite a number of small programs with almost daily usage. The battery in this unit is a lithium unit that is replaceable but chargeable via USB (not the 4, AAA's and backup CR2032 that's in the manual (what manual? its NOT included, btw... online to get that). Obviously this latest version is using flash for storage rather than previously model RAM.(which always required a button backup (similar to Motherboards)). Note that you ONLY want the "Plus C Silver Edition" as all other models are a step back in time. TI also sports keyboard overlays in different colors (duh.. why? you ain't wearing this thing) for an extra cost of course. Finally, it ships with a front cover (which is a bit difficult to remove; unlike my previous TI83).. ... show more
