  • I love it. overall great bag.
Color: Onyx Size: 2L Bladder - 2022 Model Pattern Name: Solid
I got the dark green and loved it. It is smaller because I am a bigger guy, but it is great non the less. It is a great day hike bag. It holds enough, and I like the pocket placements. It is too skinny to add a binder in the big compartment for school, but it can still be used for everyday bags on other things. I use mine for hikes, gym, walking my dog, and so on. It's great overall. You get what you pay for, but for the price, it is not too cheap that you notice it. it is very well-built and stitched. As far as the hydration bag, I do not use cause I prefer bottles on the side, so I do not know if the suction works great on it, but it looks like it would. ... show more

  • Absolutely fantastic!
I appreciate thorough reviews so be prepared for this long one. Fantastic product. This replaced my Camelback Cloud Walker that I have had for many years. It is almost exactly the same design. My old pack was blue and I was worried that the description of the new pack being bright blue would be too obnoxious. I am often in deep woods and want to be more camouflage. My old blue pack was a shade soft enough that I did not stand out. It took me a really long time to decide on my color. I took the chance and I'm very pleased. It is a nice bright blue but not neon and not tacky looking. I actually originally went to the Teton site to order and I had problems with the process. Customer service directed me to Amazon to purchase through them. I found exactly the style what I was looking for, purchased it and it arrived quickly with no problems. I immediately sewed on all my patches that were on my old pack and filled it up with my regular items. Comes with a hydration bag even though I use my pack daily. Super comfortable, very well made. This is a high quality item that cost me half as much as a Camelback would have. I'm very very pleased. UPDATE 6/10/2022 I still love this pack! I have taken it everywhere. It's been worn wet, tossed in bushes, sat on on rocks and asphalt, spray painted, sweat against and been in sand and dust for days. Ive washed it once. It's barely faded. The pockets keep out dirt and dust, ticks and water, if rained on. The flap of fabric that goes over the zipper to keep out dust is overly efficient. The stiffness of the overhang makes it frustrating sometimes when I want to just zip a pocket closed quickly but definitely worth the trouble. I added rings and fabric strips to the zipper pulls so they are easier to find quickly and can tell right away which zippers for which pocket. Honestly 80% of the time the pockets that I always use are about 1/4 open. Nothing ever falls out and zippers stay where I put them. A bungee loop on the front of the pack broke within about 6 months. Kind of a bummer but I somehow force it to work awkwardly anyhow. Wouldn't mind getting that replaced as I use that often. The side pockets are big enough for a water bottle and the top of the water bottle happens to also fit underneath the buckle strap on the side so holds it even more securely on the pack. The back pocket, where the water bladder would go, is narrow and flat and deep and very very convenient for specific items like a tablet or notebooks etc. It is also insulated and padded against the very back. It will keep a freshly baked loaf of bread warm for at least 2 hours. It'll hold a hoody. The front and second pockets zippers are easier to open as there are no flaps in front of them. The second pocket I use for items that I rarely get into because of the size of it and that it is tucked somewhat behind the first pocket and buckled flat on the outside. Also the design of this pocket, when unzipped, exposes everything and the flap opens all the way, like a door, potentially spilling out anything loose. The third pocket is wide and deep and holds an amazing amount of things. Definitely the pockets are affected by what is in their neighboring pockets. A large item in the very back pocket will take up more space that other pockets would have utilized so stuff gets shoved around, squished and forced in often. The zippers always hold though. Any straps can be used to hold stuff on the outside. I did not think that this was going to be big enough for the amount of use that I put it to. So far it's been pretty close to perfect. Haven't used the waist and chest straps but they never get in my way hanging down where they're at. In fact they have been quite handy when I just reach out and grab a hanging strap to drag it to me when it's buried under something or just out of reach. The only thing that regularly is frustrating that I never would have thought of is that the pack does not sit up straight when set on the ground. Always tips forward. This is due to the very front pocket not beginning at the extreme bottom of the pack. This puts the weight off kilter, as the bottom of the pack is always softly rounded. There is no firm flat bottom on it. Other then a few things it's a fabulous pack. If it ever needs replacing I'd get it again. 8/22 Third follow-up review. Today someone broke into my car and stole my pack. Thank God I have all these review pictures of it cuz I'm going to file a police report. It's amazing how upset I am about it. Get this pack if you want one that you will love forever. Wish me luck, maybe I'll find it.. if not I'm definitely buying another one. Maybe I'll try that orange one. ... show more

  • Early thoughts are this is an awesome backpack!
Color: Olive Green Size: 2L Bladder - 2021 Model Pattern Name: Solid
Though I enjoy hiking and being out in nature, I'm by no means an avid outdoorsmen. I mention so you know I'm a relative fair weather outdoors person (hehe). Having said that, I am someone who values quality and price regardless if its sporting goods, clothing, furniture, food, etc so I feel I can provide a good review from that perspective. Last week I went to the Adirondacks with friends and hiked for about 3 hours, they all had smaller backpacks and I liked the idea of having something smaller for shorter hikes than carrying my larger 36L backpack. I thought it would be nice to have a day pack that I could use for both hiking and for when I ride my bike. After reviewing about twenty 18L or smaller backpacks I settled on this TETON 1100 back. It literally arrived today and all I've done is open it but here's my review so far: WOW, great bag and exceptional price to boot! So this is made from what feels like a good quality nylon (not thin like something you could crumple up but like a good quality gym bag). I like that it's a compact bag, large enough to put a pair of shoes, some energy bars, a t-shirt or thin pullover, a water bottle, a few other accessories...enough room for going out hiking for several hours or even tooling around a city for a half day. Plus it has a 2L hydration pack included that's supposed to keep the liquid cool for up to 4 hrs (TBD). If you don't use the hydration pack there's additional storage for an iPad or book, etc. Despite its smaller 18L size (which is what I wanted) 18.5" x 10" x 7", it has lots of storage compartments - from the back to the front of the bag there's the hydration pack zippered area (2L bladder included, no cleaning device), the larger zippered compartment, a smaller zippered compartment, an open area that can be adjusted using the pull straps, another zippered pocket (with 2 smaller compartments and a small clip for keys, etc), the bungy section on front, and 2 mesh side compartments (picture shows a 21oz camelback insulated squeeze bottle). A cool feature is the attached rain cover on the bottom front of the backpack in a velcro little pocket - it's attached to the bag so it won't be able to get dropped or blown away. Going back to the bungy part, I've never really know what the heck that's for, maybe to put wet stuff to dry? I saw on bicycle bags its used to store your helmet when you're not riding. Anyway, if you don't know a whole lot about how to use backpacks like me there's a couple ideas. Besides being able to tighten/loosen the bungy cord, it has a removable clip which I guess would provide even more room for it to stretch and hold down something even larger against the bag. Again, I haven't used yet but the shoulder straps appear to be pretty sturdy for the size of the bag - take note that though the shoulder straps appear sturdy and well constructed, they don't have a whole lot of padding to them, perhaps an 1/8" (orange part in picture) surrounded by the mesh and then additional nylon and more stitching. The rear of the backpack has 2 nicely padded vertical parts to help with ventilation. There's a handle strap at the top to easily grab the bag, hydration ports at both sides of the top so you can choose which side you want the hose of the hydration bladder to come out from, and a drain drip hole at the bottom of the hydration compartment (assuming for moisture or leaks to drip out of and reduce the bag from getting too wet otherwise). The horizontal chest strap is a 2-way adjustable strap - not only to go around you chest (that's a no brainer) but can also be moved up or down about 8" on the grey strap to adjust where around your chest you want. It also has another adjustable strap at the bottom of the bag to go around your mid section. I purchased the green color (nylon has a honeycomb pattern to it) and am very happy with it. There appear to be 2 small reflective pieces towards the bottom of the bag and you might be able to clip something to them as they're about 2" in length and stitched onto the bag though I'd probably refrain from doing so. The zipper pulls are nice - they have a nice design and made of a hard rubber with a slight tactile feel. Though I haven't taken out on the trails, I'm very pleased with the initial quality, design, look, and price! I don't think you'd be disappointed. ... show more

  • Works as expected
Color: High Tide Size: 2L Bladder - 2022 Model Pattern Name: Solid
I bought this for a hiking trip. I was happy to receive it the same day (because I am a last-minute shopper). It came with a hydration pack. It felt comfortable on my shoulders. The only reason I didn't end up using it was because when I was packing it the night before, I tugged on the plastic cap around the ends of the drawstring to tighten it and the cap fell off, revealing the 2 separate pieces of drawstring inside. They weren't glued to each other or to the little black cap. It turned me off from the bag entirely. I know it's not a high-end brand but it was $50 and I feel that for that much, I should feel comfortable knowing no parts are going to fall off. I decided not to use it and I also missed the return window so I'm stuck with it. Again, it looks nice and will probably get the job done but don't expect something super high quality. ... show more
