I placed it on a giant leather ottoman, sat right in front and layed back slowly. My back immediately cracked in all the right places. It took a load of stress off my neck and mid-back overall kind of everywhere. Almost feels like a chiropractic adjustment. The unit feels very sturdy and adjusts to your liking. Im losing weight but didn't realize there was a weight limit on it so it just flatten out when I layed back on it. Very uncomfortable. Probably going to return it.

The plastic this back stretcher is made of is the sturdy type that bends, but does not break when heavy pressure is applied on them. I was able to insert the board in different positions in the base to set the back stretcher to both the lowest and highest height levels. As a word of warning, it takes quite a bit of hand strength to bend the plastic board and stuff it in the appropriate slot in the base, and for this reason alone I would not recommend this back stretcher to the elderly or generally weak people. At the highest height setting, where the board was bent at the most severe angle, I was able to notice a bit of stress marks in the plastic material around some of the bumps with the metal studs in them. I tried to lay on the stretcher at the lowest height just to test it out. It does indeed stretch one's back out, and appears to hold my weight (140ish pounds) in a reliable manner. Overall this is a great back stretcher for the price range. Combined with the rather nice woven bag it comes with, it's great value for the money. It can be hard to use for people with weaker hands in general, and the way it's designed gives me the impression that it's probably not the sort of item that's meant to last for years and years. Still, I am perfectly happy to recommend it to people with temporary back problems, or people who are trying out back stretchers for the first time without wanting to fully commit to a more expensive type of back stretcher. For the most part, this particular back stretcher feels like a great entry level product that fulfills its niche very well. ... show more
