I tried this because it said it was great for black hair; it did not fall short! Three things I love the most are: 1. It’s very light 2. It gets hot quick and has multiple temperature settings and 3. The comb attachment keeps me from burning my scalp and fingers when set at high temps. I had an older electric straightening comb and it does not compare to this one. My hair is very thick and about 10” down my back, so I made smaller parts so that I wouldn’t have to run through too many times with the heat. I also love this product because I am not good with flat irons; they chop my hair off due to user and not product error. I sprayed my hair with the silken mist, also purchased via Amazon and it looked like I went to the salon. My hairs has a lot of body. I could wear it straight and curl. I plan to order another one in case this one breaks. This was a great product for the price and for a DIY unprofessional home stylist😂.

It gets the job done, but as a wig stylist It definitely doesn't get as hot as id like. It requires multiple passes to get nice and flat. Andis hot comb still trumps this one but its a decent hot comb.

I was contemplating the new electric straighteners and just knew my edges would not be intimidated by them. I began looking for an electric “hot comb” but with up to date quality material. This product is the answer! It is ceramic not metal, so the temperature is regulated. It comes with a guide cover if you’re worried about burning your ears or the back of your neck or you can use it w/o it. It works on your edges and your “kitchen”.

The product itself is five stars, I only gave three stars, because I don’t like the fact that when the hot comb is plugged into the outlet, even with the hot comb being off, as long as it is plugged in the outlet it still gets hot as if it’s on which is a safety hazard for me. Me as a hairstylist, keep all my hot/hair tools plugged up, because they all have an off position! Yes I am aware that even when things are off the current is still live, but this is something I have never seen before, it probably could cause a fire or even servere burn if you were to touch it, thinking it’s off! As far a temperature, it’s great, get HOT ASL, again even when it’s turned off too, so just imagine when it’s actually on. I have only taken it up to 410 degrees. It’s straighten great leaves the hair silky, I don’t use the attachment that comes with but it still works great with or without! It’s definitely worth your $$$. Just be sure to unplug when you are done!
