  • OK
Seems to work. It has a smell but that small is way better than the awful flies/maggots in the trash. Eventually the adhesive fails, and the thing itself falls in the trash, so I wish I could just buy a big pack of these. I also use trash bin liners which work great too. So even if the smell comes back, It all gets thrown away and the trash bin is clean again, without having to wash out. ... show more

  • Kept bugs from multiplying inside
Fell to bottom of bin but still worked well at keeping bugs away all summer

  • Incredible Product - Faulty Design
I was very skeptical when I first bought these but our fly/maggot problem was severe. We had two trash cans, and I refused to touch them. I purchased one for each can and my husband applied as directed. I made sure he cleaned and dried the spot prior to applying the adhesive. They began to work immediately. The flies could not stand it and in less than a week our problem was solved. Unfortunately, when the garbage picked up, the Terros went out with the trash. They worked so well, I invested again AND we bought command strips to use. This time, they lasted 2 weeks before going out with the trash. I really want these to stay on my cans! We were placing them on the inside lid. I am wondering if we place them in a different location if they would stick around. (Pun intended.) I just don't know if I am willing to buy two more when we've already tried four and they don't stay. I can only throw so much money in the trash... literally. ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised.
We had a horrible run in with fruit flies when we had some produce to bad while we were gone for a couple of weeks over the summer - I thought I got it all but definitely did not. Of course we discovered the problem when we got home, as luck would have it trash day was days away so it sat in our outdoor can for several days and that just led to even more. I used this to stick in our large can. If you can put on a band-aid you can install this. We noticed a big difference in the first couple of days and had them almost completely gone within a week. ... show more

  • This thing works. Wish I'd have known about this product before.
It works. We used to have nasty maggots on our trash bags no matter how careful we were to ensure the garbage can lid was on straight & closed tight. How flies got in there to do their thing I could never figure out, but they did. UNTIL I put these on our 3 garbage can lids. No more maggots, none, zip, nada, zilch. However, as others have pointed out, the two-sided adhesive attaching strips are just about worthless. Two of the three became unattached & I had to attach them to the lids with small #6 bolt, washer, & nut. A minor inconvenience given how effective these things are at stopping maggot infestation. O/A I am very pleased with this product. ... show more

  • Didn't work for me-at all
I hate to be that guy and normally would just take my lumps and move on with my life, but I wanted these to work so badly. I work out of my garage and my garbage cans are in the back portion of my property adjacent to my garage. The fly problem has gotten so bad in the heat that I can only work from my garage in the morning hours. The flies get so active after noon that it's unbearable to work from my garage and I don't have a setup to work from inside so I end up setting my laptop on my bed and working from a chair next to my bed. ANYWAY, I wanted these things to work SO BADLY and almost every review I read of them was positive that they flies went away and the ONLY negative reviews I read were because the things didn't stick well to the garbage cans. Well, all I can say is the other people must have had pretty minor fly problems. I installed 7 of these things (one for each garbage can) and gave them a week to take hold and if I walk over to my garbage cans right now and open one of them there are so many flies you can barely keep your eyes open as they all swarm out of the can upon opening. It's disgusting and hideous and now that these have failed I have no hope except to wait until they cool off. Oh and maybe buy a couple more of the can type fly traps that you set next to the garbage and hope that knocks down their numbers. These things, sadly, did not work for me at all. I can't believe other people installed them and the flies went away. They didn't even seem to put a dent in the number of flies in my cans. Super bummed about the whole thing (not the least of which is the $60 I spent on them). ... show more
