Description

Trash bins can be notorious for attracting unwanted pests, but with the TERRO Garbage Guard, you can make sure your garbage cans are protected. This solution is great for outdoor trash cans with lids and wheels, keeping them protected all summer long. TERRO Garbage Guard tackles a variety of flying and crawling insects, such as flies, maggots, and roaches, which commonly infiltrate trashcan environments. By releasing a deeply penetrating vapor, the pod exterminates both visible and hiding insects, while also preventing new infestations from taking hold. Each TERRO Garbage Guard lasts up to four months thanks to its controlled release technology. Say goodbye to maggots and bugs swarming your trash can or garbage can. With the easy-to-attach adhesive backing, the pod fits seamlessly inside your trash can lid, providing discreet and uninterrupted protection. As you close the lid, the vapor begins its work, protecting your trashcan from common pests. Utilize TERRO Garbage Guard in outdoor or garage trash bins, dumpsters, and trashcans.

  • They’re magic. Just buy them.
Style: 2 Pack
These things are so good, I’ve got them on subscription. I live in the hot, humid, coastal south and fruit flies are a huge problem. You see a few and then before you know it, your trash can is a science experiment you never asked for. We’ve tried the apple cider vinegar and the fruit flies just laugh arrogantly. But with these thiGONE! Just like that. Couldn’t even finish the sentence. I just stick it on the underside of the lid and enjoy my fly-free trash for months. When I start seeing fruit fly gangs gathering near the bananas again, snapping their tiny fingers, acting all cocky, I just grab a new pack and replace thBIFF!! Nope. Not here. Not today. Try again in a few months and see how that works out for you. (HINT: It wont.) These things are magic. Just buy them. ... show more

  • A must have!
Style: 2 Pack
I have a dog and it took me awhile to figure out that a lined galvanized bucket with a lid is the best way to stay on top of the little droppings she leaves in the yard. The issue is flies and the nastiness that comes with the egg laying and well, you get it. I used to hang a fly trap right next to the bucket in the side yard and while it was always filling up fast and kept the pests away from the patio they're messy to deal with and actually, quite disgusting. I discovered these 2 years ago and will never be without them. I stick one to the underside of the lid and it lasts for a couple of months. There are no flies, no maggots, nothing! They work great for my purpose and I'm positive they'd be just as good anywhere that flies are a problem. ... show more

  • Lord of the Flies
Style: 1 Pack
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this product in August, it is now November and I belive this product is supposed to last 4 months and let me tell you how the last few months went: the day after gluing the pod to the lid, I noticed a few dead flies on the bottom of the trash can but still a lot of live ones. I gave it a few days but flies and maggots were still living in my trash can. After a couple of weeks I came to the conclusion that this product works so-so, it killed a few flies but not enough to fix my fly issue. At one point maggots even started crawling around and inside the pod like it was nothing! I left it alone as weather started to cool off ( I live in SC so by cool off, I mean below 80°) and I started seeing less flies but I think the weather change had more to do with it than this product. As weather fluctuated between a few cool days and warm days, the amount of flies also fluctuated. Two days ago, after trash was picked up, they left the lid open and I noticed the my trash can was FULL of flies and maggots, there were so many of them flying around that I couldn't even get close to the trash can. I finally decided enough is enough and I grabbed my garden hose and began rinsing off the trash can to get all of the nastiness off and the maggots. While I was spraying the lid, the pod fell off and fell on my driveway, I thought "oh well, its trash anyway" and continued spraying the trash can until I felt it was clean and moved on. Now here's the horrifying part: I dont know what about the pod getting wet caused this but a few hours later, I noticed flies gathering around the pod and seemed to be dying? The next morning even more flies were gathering around it, there's so many of them you can't get close and its really disgusting! There are so many flies and they're all coming to my driveway 😭😭 I'm attaching a video of what I'm looking at when I look at my driveway. This product definitely didn't work as intended and now I feel like the lord of the flies with all of these flies gathering and dying in my driveway and I dont know how many more will come but I don't want to get close and pick up the pod. ... show more

  • Keeps maggots away, adhesive could use some work.
Style: 1 Pack
Had difficulty with the adhesive/it did not stay, but I utilized duck tape to tape it to the top lid of my trashcan. It wasn’t the prettiest fix, but it fixed our maggot situation in our outdoor trash cans until the end of the summer.

  • Helps a Little, But Not a Complete Fix for Garbage Can Flies
Style: 1 Pack
I purchased the Terro T800 Garbage Guard Trash Can Insect Killer hoping to eliminate the persistent problem of flies, gnats, maggots, and roaches that kept invading our outdoor garbage bin during the warmer months. The product seemed promising with its claims of odorless, deep-penetrating vapor, controlled-release technology, and a lifespan of up to 4 months. Unfortunately, while it helped to reduce the number of pests, it didn’t entirely solve the issue. Pro Tip: If you decide to use this, make sure to clean the garbage bin thoroughly beforehand and always close your trash bags securely. You can also pair this with fly-repelling sprays or essential oils for added effectiveness. ... show more

  • The Ultimate Bug Bouncer for Your Trash Can – No Fruit Fly VIPs Allowed!
Style: 1 Pack
We’ve bought the Terro T800 Garbage Guard several times now, and we’re basically their biggest fans. It’s like hiring a tiny, ruthless bouncer for our kitchen trash can—fruit flies show up expecting a wild party, but they’re getting turned away at the door. No smell, no mess, just months of peaceful, bug-free trash. We even recommend these to anyone who dares to complain about fruit flies (especially when the weather warms up). Pro tip: we use a beefier double-sided tape than the one included because we’re serious about keeping this bug-banisher in place. If you’re tired of sharing your home with uninvited six-legged guests, this is your solution. We'll keep buying these until the bugs learn their lesson (so, forever). ... show more

  • This product far exceeded expectations!
Style: 2 Pack
This product works great! During the summer months in south Florida, despite every measure we take, we get an huge influx of flies and maggots inside our outdoor garbage cans. One day after affixing this product to the inside lid of our garbage cans, the flies completely disappeared. I wish I’d discovered this product earlier. ... show more

  • Works Better Than Expected
Style: 1 Pack
Bought this for my outdoor trash can. Flies were getting bad in summer. Easy to install. Just clips on the rim of the can. Takes about 30 seconds to set up. The scent keeps most flies away. Still get a few but way less than before. Maggots are almost gone completely. Lasts about a month before needing replacement. Price is reasonable for what you get. ... show more
