This floor LED lamp has a similar build and style to a previous LED floor lamp that I purchased, but it is better designed than that other lamp. However, like that other lamp, I have concerns about the sustainability - read to the end where I give it my E rating for how sustainable this product is, in case you care! This LED lamp has a heavy round base which keeps it in place. The rod comes in sections that screw together, with the cord running inside and exiting near the base of the rod. The previous lamp has a similar rod but was not very solid and easily leaned; this lamp feels a lot more solid. The head of this lamp has a rubberized bendy section that allows you to point the light where desired. So far it seems flexible but sturdy. The onboard control buttons are right below this section, right at about chest-level for an average person. Due to the flexible head, this lamp is actually short. It is really meant as a reading lamp next to a chair or bed, not like a whole room floor lamp, so keep that in mind when purchasing. The remote is easy to use to turn on and off the lamp, adjust brightness, adjust color temperature, and even set a sleep timer. When turned on to the highest 6500K color setting at the highest brightness setting, the lamp easily lights up an entire bedroom, so long as the head is not bent down too low. The remote looks almost exactly like the remote that came with my previous lamp. It even is magnetized like that other remote (see pic). This leads me to suspect that these LED lamps are all probably produced in the same factory and then just assembled and made distinct by each retail manufacturer, which explains why this lamp feels more solid than the previous one despite looking almost exactly the same. Overall, based on basic specs and use, I recommend this lamp. It is bright, solid, and flexible. However.... Due to the previous LED lamps I received, as well as some other items I received this week, it is becoming painfully obvious that a lot of these products simply shirk sustainability concerns. This lamp came with a ridiculous amount of foam packing. The box was literally filled mostly with this giant brick of foam. Nowadays, I have had plenty of electronics come in cardboard or other type of insulation. Foam is not necessary! For those who do not care about sustainability, consider that foam in trash can drive up your waste bills. In my area, they actually directly charge more to dispose of foam too, and it often leaves little foam balls floating around my room that are a pain to dispose of without vacuuming (normally I just mop due to hardwood). On top of that, the light on this lamp is not replaceable. It is simply a flat LED panel. While LED panels admittedly have long lifespans, when the panel goes, the entire lamp will have to be tossed. I recently received some other LED-based lighting that had replaceable light sources that were in the same price range, so it should not be insurmountable to design these floor lamps to have replaceable parts. Due to these concerns, if I were rating this lamp for sustainability, I would only give it a 2 out of 5. ... show more

    • These are really nice floor lamps!
My husband and I love everything about this lamp! - It’s a very nice looking lamp. - It’s a versatile lamp. - It’s easy to operate. - It’s STURDY. Assembly was very easy. The base is heavy and well made of metal. The metal sections screw together easily and assemble together tightly and neatly without any wobble or play. The metal sections are pre-wired so you don’t have to fish the power cord through them. The instructions are clear and well thought-out, directing the user, for example, to test the light to be sure everything works before putting it all together. The AC adapter is included! It’s a little disconcerting, perhaps, to see the tags telling the user to contact the seller if they have any problems before seeking a refund or replacement. But in my experience, everything worked flawlessly and assembly was a cinch. I ordered this lamp to go behind my recliner to provide indirect light when aimed towards the wall or ceiling but which I could swing over and adjust to direct the light to help with reading, writing notes, etc. I wanted something attractive, and, in my opinion, this lamp looks fantastic. The gooseneck is sturdy, covered with a matte finish silicone (?) sleeve, and it absolutely stays where you put it. I was a bit concerned when setting up the lamp, that I wouldn’t be able to smooth out the arc of the gooseneck but with a bit of fidgeting, I got it as smooth as I wanted. The fact that it has its own remote control seemed like icing on the cake to me when I ordered it but it’s so handy and useful I’ll think twice about buying any lamps without one in the future. If the light is too bright (and is does go up to BRIGHT) I can just dim it with the remote. No reaching up over my head for a single on/off switch. Of course, if you WANT to fiddle with buttons on the lamp itself, there are two, ON/OFF and MODE. The MODE button covers two operations: short presses give you light color change (amber, white, mix) and long presses give you light intensity. But the remote is much more useful, in my opinion. There’s an ON/OFF switch on the top right and a night light switch on the top left that brings the light intensity down to amber in its lowest setting with a single click. Below that is a ring - top is brightness increase in 9 increments, one click per increment, bottom is brightness decrease - same deal. The left button increases the amber color in 7 increments, the right increases white color in the same number of increments, again, one step per button press. In the middle of the ring is a three stage dimmer which keeps whatever color you had selected. Below the ring are three buttons, 3000k (amber), 4500k (amber & white), and 6500k (white). And below that are two timer buttons, one for 30 minutes and one for an hour… which I suppose is great for someone that likes to fall asleep while reading lol. The words ‘Reading lamp’ are printed right on the front of the remote so you don’t accidentally mistake it for an Amazon Firestick remote, which is about the same size. I wholeheartedly recommend this lamp. It’s BRILLIANT! When I ordered it, I had no idea that it was virtually identical to another lamp we have set up in our “Music Corner”. When we put this lamp together we compared the two and found they were the same lamps offered by different sellers. We thought at first that there would be a problem with the remotes for each lamp operating BOTH lamps. But I’m thrilled to find that they do not. The remote for this lamp has no effect on the other lamp, and vice versa, despite the fact that the remotes are otherwise identical. So, we’ll just have to label them ;) ... show more
