I had high hopes for this pillow. I loved that it was actually available in king size & had cooling layers on both sides. Since it was a very heavy pillow, I really expected to get the firm support I needed for side sleeping. Unfortunately, I was wrong. This pillow may be ideal for sleeping on your back (I don't know, I can't sleep that way) but, unless you are small & lightweight, there is no way to get any neck support when sleeping on your side. The Tempur foam material is simply too plush to provide this support. Part of the problem comes from the basic shape of the pillow. It is a traditionally shaped pillow where the edges taper down to a thin edge at the case zipper. When side sleeping, the thin amount of foam at the edge compresses down to virtually nothing & provides zero support. If the pillow had a full depth, square edge, like many foam pillows, it could be ideal for side sleepers. On the positive side, the cooling gel layers do work fairly well. When first laying down, there is a very noticable cooling sensation even with 1000 tc, cotton pillow cases. Although this feeling did not last the entire night, I can't say that the pillow ever felt hot. My search for a truly cool sleeping pillow with sufficient loft & firmness for side sleeping continues.

I bought one of these pillows for my husband out of desperation. He had brain cancer, and wears an electrical array to help keep the cancer cells from dividing. It is very warm. Here in Texas, the summer heat works against him, causing his head to sweat and the water gets into the electrical arrays. We tried a few pillows that claim to be "cool," and they're just not. He got quite warm at night, to the point where it upset his sleep. Asking for suggestions on a Facebook page, the Tempurpedic pillow was one suggestion that I had not tried, chiefly because of the price. I took the plunge, made the investment, and I could not be happier. It is a supportive and yet soft pillow. And, the cooling gel is really cool. If it gets warmer during the night, we just flip the pillow when he gets up to change his array battery, and when he lays back down, he sighs with sweet relief! He loves it so much, that we took another plunge and ordered one for me to help with my night sweats. I love it, too - it helps. A lot!

When I first received it I thought wow what a great price since I got it for a bargain at more than half the price. I was even upset I did not order a second one. When I received it I thought it was amazing and was soft but yet firm enough not to sink. I loved the cooling it provided as well since I usually run a bit hot when sleeping. After the first night I loved it. Over the next few days I had discomfort on the right side of my neck. I started getting headaches at work from the pain associated with the neck strain. I did not want to believe it was the pillow but when I switched back for a few weeks to my older set, the pain gradually went away. I still did not want to believe these pillows we're causing me pain so I tested them out for another week. The pain quickly came back and I immediately switched back to my old pillows. The pain is still present, the strain is not going away as quickly. The pillow might have done irreparable damage, only time will tell. I believe the design flaw is with the pillow being up to high, the curve is to sharp for a natural sleeping position. It doesn't sink too much which is good but with the way it sits on your head it puts added pressure on your neck.

I think it’s a great pillow, if you buy it while on sale. I don’t think it’s worth almost $200. I got this pillow when it was $84 on sale. Luckily I caught the sale bc the next day it was back to full price !! The pillow stays cool and is very comfortable. It’s a bit firm but overall think It’s good quality and is what I expected it to be.

This pillow is no better than the ones that cost 1/2 or 1/3 of what this does. The old Tempur-Pedic foam would mold to your head and provide support without pressure. This one just feels like a regular pillow - the pillow forms a valley around whatever you lay on it. Combined with the dimensions, it's more likely to cause you neck pain than to help, as unless you're a very large person, it's going to be too high for back, side, or front sleeping.

I really like this pillow. It doesn't feel as comfortable as some pillows (they are so soft and comfy but throughout the night they sink) have but those pillows always give me a headache. Maybe I need to get a smaller size as I like my head to be at the back portion of the pillow. One thing about this pillow is ever since I have been using it my headaches went away. I was dealing with sick headaches all the time. It does take some time to get used to it. It is firm but it does sink but not too much like every other pillow I have used. It is heavy but no big deal for me. I like that it is cool. I use satin sheets, so along with the cooling gel on the pillow, it hardly ever gets hot. I'm glad I bought it. I haven't had neck pain or headaches since.

This pillow is honestly one of my favorites, it is beyond comfortable and incredibly cool. There is however only two problems I have with it. First, this pillow is expensive, I ended up buying the king size on sale for around $90 (the cheapest I had ever seen it) and that is still a crazy amount of money to spend a simple pillow. Second, is the cooling feature of this pillow; this pillow is so cold when you first lie down at night is board-line uncomfortable, you'll have to give the pillow a bit to warm up. But you know what people say about sending most of your life in bed so this pillow might just be worth it, I know it was for me.
